I'm looking for a good quality assisted open folder. I prefer a 3.5 - 4" blade. This is for tactical use. I'm looking for something under
$150. Hellllllllllpppppp!!

Thanks,
Shivster

Hard to beat the Ken Onion/Kershaw series. The Bump is very sweet and I love my Random Task. The Leek and Chive are pretty hard to beat at their price point too.

i would recommend the CAMILLUS Dominator. u can find one for between $135 - $150 if u look around. really like mine... getting a newer production run one soon too.

Check out the Kershaw Boa. It's the first and the Best,
and it's all black for military use. This is the knife you want.

Count this as another vote for the Camillus. I have the Aftermath and it's a gorgeou knife, the robo quick flick is a great addition and the steel quality in the Camillus is much better then what you're going to get in a Kershaw. If you do end up going with a Kershaw, I recommend the Blur, I've handled and sold all over Kershaws knives, and I've found the Blur to easily be the supperior of all of them, even over the Boa. The boa has much better steel (s60v, I beleive) but the liner lock is a pain in the ass to get to, it's to far in, I don't like the grip very much, the opening motion is substantialy slower then any of the other speed safe openers and personally I like the tortion assist with the thumb stud on the blade over the speed safe mechanism.

I, too, like the Dominator. Great quality and great steel. But if by an assisted tactical you mean fast opening, I don't think it's as fast as many of the non-assisted. If you don't need all that speed, it is easy and handy to open.

Bump up your budget a little for the Kershaw Bump.;)

S30V steel, titanium handle, Ken Onion style.

Don't own enough knives to tell you what "best" is, but the Kershaw Bump is *very* nice--blade shape is almost perfect, ergos are quite good, it's light weight, lock up is strong & tight, and its my only knife that has gotten about 10 compliments from wife and others for its looks (photos cannot really do the scales justice)

I don't know the laws in your state, but if Automatic knives were an option, I'd check out Microtech, or Protech. They have some great "assisted" openers, and the quality is tops.

Boa all the way, this a great knife and very underrated. Just my $0.02

You might also want to consider SOG knives. They make a number of assisted openers and from what I can tell, will be releasing one or two more at SHOT this week. The Flash II has a 3.5" Blade and is in your price range.

Kershaw Boa or Camillus Dominator.

You'll want to get to a local store to see which mechanism you prefer, though, as they react very differently.

Tip up vs. down carry is also a concern.

Figure these two figures out, you'll have your decision automatically made for you.

if when you say tactical i think military, and with this i think hard use.

Get a kershaw, id say random leek, preformance steel, amazing geometry.

and the kershaw warranty will still back you up after ridiculous use
