So far I like Kershaw ones, the rainbow Leek is nice, and so is the new Bump. The SOGs I'm not too impressed with. The Camillus Dominator looks like a good one, although kinda bulky and the edge grind looks wide, but I could be wrong. I'm really interested in the new Buck Rush with the ATS-34 blade. Anybody have an opinion on which one is best, or are any of them even worth it?

I have probably bought and given away a dozen or more Chives and Scallions, they are just a very cool sheeple friendly knife. I also have a Kershaw Blackout and I think the ergonomics on the handle are just outstanding. The CUDA Dominator is in a class by itself, that is a serious knife that I think was designed to handle any situation. I think assisted opening knives have all of the fun factor of an auto without the legal hassel, in most cases. I enjoy them and they certainly do fill a niche.

At home I EDC the Kershaw Ken Onion Leek (now the Black "boron" - actually Tungsten DLC version) - so in that way it's "best" for my usage.

There will be disagreement over the ultimate materials - eg: 440A steel - true, it's not the "best", premium or exoctic - but it is more than merely adequate for an everyday use steel, it is very rust resistant and sharpens up really well - as my well over a year's EDC proves.

It's "best" for me - because it is right sized (for me) sleek and convenient to carry, assisted-opening with a frame-lock - and now with a gorgeous but subtle glossy metallized tough black finish:

I think "best" is relative and personal.

There was a recent poll thread here on the best assisted opener. Kershaw came out on top by a landslide. Perhaps that is because Ken Onion invented the assisted opener and the rest are just wanta be's. :p

Personally, I like the SOGs the best. Frame locks and most liner locks do almost nothing for me. Since the SOGs have Piston, ArcLocks and Back locks they work a lot better for me. :)

ok, well then does anybody know anything about the new BUCK Rush? It looks pretty nice for a buck.

SOGs, easier to sharpen for me.....but Onions are nice sleek designs.......but SOGs are easier for me to hold.........thats 2 against one, SOG wins ! That was easy !

The Leek is a great knife. It's not the biggest around, but it feels really good. I have a random leek with the s30v blade which is a bonus, but like the other poster said, 440a is fine for most situations. The Leeks open quickly and easily.

The Dominator is a tank of a knife, very solid and well made. It takes more effort to get the blade moving, but it's a solid piece and will handle more stressful work.

I just saw that Random Leek on CK&T.com and it's nice! A little pricey though. So, the reverse tanto blade and S30V in black or the regular rainbow? And what about that new gold Leek? And I still want to try out the Rush.
