i need quality blades for my bandsaw. mind you the saw itself is no award winner (small harbor freight 48inch thing) where to but good blades? preferably carbide tipped.
Bar none they are a little pricey but worth every penny! Diemaster2. Check them out and you will not regret it!
Here is the link to order them. I went thru three in a month that I ordered from ENCO and they all sucked the minute I put them on the bandsaw. Order two as Stacy says and you will have them for a long time.
I will be honest I am not sure what blade is best for Titanium. However if you will call the toll free number for the Toolcenter, 1-888-778-9663 they can help you out.
Tell them that you are interested in the Lennox Diemaster 2 blades and know what length you will need. They can talk you through the order and will even take the info over the phone, to be able to place the order. Two blades for a portaband saw ran me between $40.00 - $50.00, shipping and all. Some will say that is outrageous however when you see how long these will last compared to a regular blade it is worth every penny.
I am not saying you can't damage one of these blades because you can. However you can damage titanium if you try hard enough! These are the smoothest running and cutting blades I have ever ran.
Once you get thru the learning cure you will be gald you made the purchase. You have to have the right blade for the thickness of material you are cutting most, you have to learn at what speed to cut at, you have to figure out how to cut corner and radius's, etc...... You have to do all of these with any blade however.
