Been conceal carrying a OSS for years now in the concealex sheath now prob. Would like something a little heavier I could chop w/ too. That OSS aint gonna cut much ballistically, only stabs and draw cuts really..

But I don't want just a thicker blade w/ the same thin dagger type profile to get the increased mass or you end up w/ some obtuse geometry that compromises cutting performance (eg Entrek Ranger).

Looking for something that is thicker and broader and hence heaver, w/ about the same OAL of ca 13 1/2" w/ at least an 8" blade.

I'm really digging this (except maybe in 3/16" rather than 1/4"):

But with the handle from this Knife:

And w/ the Spanish Notch type double guard of this knife:

I can't think of anything better that could be concealed. Discuss

How are you concealing those? I'm having a hard time concealing a Meyerco Wharning. I'm assuming you are not LEO or military since you need a knife for defense so it's gonna have to be concealed.

BTW, any idea of the point of the handle design of the top pictured mineral mt hatchet work knife, the wasp?

As a cheaper alternative, I'm thinking about getting a CS Warhead, though its only like 2oz heavier so it won't have a substantial increase in hacking power.

In a mostly vertical fashion in the waste just behind the hip, usually b/t belt and pants under an untucked blouse or a blazer type jacket. Walking, sitting, driving, no prob, though I do have to bump it to adjust it every now and then.

I do have FL "CWL" In daggers are definately weapons, but not prohibited from ownership or carry.

I REALLY like that Gauge stuff, though it is a little pricey for me... Gawd that thing is sweet. Everytime I see it I get a little excited inside. Its a little big too.
