Best Binoculars for Under $100

I have a friend in her late 60s who is looking for inexpensive but decent binoculars for casual use. They are unlikely to be used in low light or inclement weather. I once saw the Nikon 8x25 Travelite rated highly by Consumer Reports and think they might be a reasonable choice. I'm curious whether anyone has any other recommendations?

Thanks for any input anyone can offer.

I have a pair of Nikon 12x25 Travelite
They are superb
I can see the cable lines on the High Voltage Pylons across the valley about 2 km away
They are not very small, not compact but much smaller than full size
Light to carry
They are okay in twilight
Just over $100 but well worth the extra money for the extra 12 magnification

Nikon ACULON A30 10X25mm Binoculars is a very good option for saving $25
But not as good as the Travelite

Thanks! I think my friend might have trouble holding 12x steady, but the 8 or 10x would likely work.

Much appreciated.
