So today is my birthday and seeing as i'm starting to take an interested in camping/hiking, my wonderful girlfriend agreed to get me this, which actually arrived just last night.
It is a Hennessy Hammock Explorer Deluxe ZIP with Hex Fly, Radiant Pad, Snake Skins, and Overcover. I've already slipped the snake skins on the hammock and plan to add the hex fly as well. That way it is all in one with just the tree straps, and some tent stakes needed to put it up.
It looks well built, tough, and able to withstand rain. The Hex fly is huge! Way bigger than I expected it to be.
I was deciding on a nice tent when a fellow member pointed out the Hennessy Hammocks to me. They are lighter, seem to take up less room, and probably more comfortable to sleep in. I can't wait to try it. Unfortunately, there are no real trees in my backyard, but i'm going to try and set it up at my girlfriends just to see what it is like to set up and relax in it for a bit. Hope to actually get out and camp at least once before the year is over.
