OK, for general daily cutting chores, nothing too heavy like which is the best or maybe easiest blade shape to live with?

Tanto, Drop Point, or Insingo?

You’re gonna get answers for all of them.

Personally, if I could only have one I’d choose the drop point. But I have and carry all three.

Bought a large Seb with the Insingo blade and wish I never did. Purely an aesthetic thing though, nothing against the cutting potential. Although I do prefer a blade to have a decent amount of belly to it for most uses.

Insingo. Might not be the prettiest blade shape in the world, but for my purposes it’s the most useful. As far as looks, the DP is very nice, especially on the UG’s and older 21 inlays.

Insingo for me, but drop points are great too. My Insingo slices great, cuts great straight lines and has plenty of spine. I like a tanto, just not the CRK version. YMMV

I’m in the minority - but the Tanto is the most useful blade shape and looks amazing on the Zaan and Inkosi. If I could only have 3 tho:

Umnumzaan Tanto
Inkosi Insingo
Sebenza DP

I prefer the Sebenza Insingo and the Inkosi DP. But close.

I am a little surprised that more people didn’t like the tanto. To me it looks like it is easy to sharpen on bench stones. It is just basically two straight edges to sharpen. There are two points that can be used for delicate work. I am referring to the point at the blade’s end and the point created where the cutting edge changes directions. I am pondering picking up a Sebenza but I am torn on which blade shape to get. Thank you everyone for your input.
