Full flat ground spear point?
When spending $400 on a knife I would get something you like, not what we all like.

I second ( third, fourth....whatever :D) Drop point flat grind. I think people keep forgetting that, while tough as nails, a SNG/SMF is still a folding knife. A chain is as string as it's weakest link. The Tanto or Rogue Warrior can punch through steel drums, car doors, cans of beans or what have you but so can my $100 Manix 2. It's not a prybar, it's a cutter so get the knife that best facilitates that......see above ;)

the cutting edge on a sng is 2 7/8 smf 3 1/2 . Some to consider when spending
big $$$ on a strider.

The SNG is also lighter and easier to carry than the SMF, and I don't see how an extra ~1/2" is going to make much of a difference performance wise.

the spear point is the way to fly imho & i have tried 'em all.

the SnG is a lot better edc knife imho than a SmF, ya wouldnt think the small difference would matter but it did to me, imho the SnG is one of the best edc's around.

the cutting edge of a SnG is barely shorter than a AR, i dont remember the exact difference but its a lot less than i had imagined given the size diff' between the 2.

As stated above, get what you like man,
but for me, I prefer flat ground, I"m just not really into hollow ground knives (they call it 3/4 ground)

I also like the drop point rather than the tanto. I also don't have any practice sharpening a tanto and imagine it would be a little more difficult than sharpening a drop point. Obviously some will disagree and say tantos are just as easy or something, that's just my two cents.

SNG is a really great EDC as well.
