Best Blades for me after years of trial.

Alright, it's been decades of thinning and adding to the herd. I have finally gotten the blades that fit me best. I'm a sheep rancher on horseback and carry a blade one way or another everyday.
1. Hinderer for daily carry
2. is a Busse Game Warden for jugular cut at butcher and over all piecing out and fleshing hides (shared with a small, super sharp Bark River necker that I forgot to add in the pic, best $60 I spent for a blade)
3. Busse Badger for daily belt carry and gets the most use. Probably the best blade I have ever owned.
4. An old Randall #1 in 8 inch that I just can't get rid of that I carry sometimes when camping during summer pasture, but I miss my Badger.
5. A Rat Rucki is the sleeper of the bunch that gets sashed on the saddle and stays with me and my bedroll. I consider this my side arm now that here in Sweden there are no guns to be had for law abiding citizens. My trusty single action Ruger that was on my belt at all times resides with my family back in the States.
After all these years I can honestly say that I don't dig stainless steel blades. I have tried and tried, but I'll take rust/patina and easy of sharpening over a blade that tolerates moisture, but is a complete pain in the ass to get moderately sharp. Carbon and it's ilk, A2 etc, is just a few swipe and it's ready to go.
Be good my friends.

Very nice setup!........I wouldn't want the sneak up on you in the middle of the night:eek:

We don't hear from you a lot, but you have a great selection of knives. Thanks for your post and pics.

Pick up some diamond stones, stainless sharpening will no longer be a problem for you. But I do agree, most carbon steels are a breeze to sharpen.

Gotta say that I owe a lot to this forum. Busse and Hinderer were unknown to me before. My old kit was a Randall, machette, an old buck and a Case pen knife. Never could afford a Loveless... lol.

Very nice knives. But I don't think this thread is complete without seeing them outside of the sheaths.:D

Agreed, blade photos! :D

Nice group; looks like you have most bases covered...throw in a good multi-tool and/or SAK and you should be good to go.

p.s. If you ever want to get rid of that old, ugly, RMK #1-8, I know a guy...just sayin' ;)

wish you could show us the whole knife so we can see the beatings they took!

Yes, gladly show a pic with edges.
since we're talking blades and I don't have to worry about boring the old lady…
The three top are the hinderer just because it's just such a damn well made knife and fits IN my pocket. The Busse Badger is the "if-I could-only-have-one" knife. It just fits so damn well in the hand and balanced. Not to mention that i couldn't break it if I tried. The Rucki is a hoot. I have always wanted a Cadillac machete. And I really have good use of machetes, clean a fish, chop brush, love it.
I had bigger and heavier Busses over the years and they are just too much to handle for regular use, but damn fine blades. The Game Warden would be perfect for its size if it just had more of a hilt and no choil. Then I would never have to use the little Bark River (whose edge is constantly getting deformed). The hilt is really appreciated when your cutting the jugular on a ornery ram lamb. I have cut deep in my finger many a times with that blade. The Badger often gets pressed into service for that reason, but the Warden is kept with a keener edge so it is an easier cut. Prefer to keep the Badger edge a bit chop friendly. The Randall would see more use if I just beefed out the handle a bit more. But the knife is to nice to monkey with.
