I've been liking this showing of bowies for a lot of years now. Thank you for all of the efforts that make it possible. My absolute favorite knife this year is one I found in Jim Cooper's pictures... and then didn't get moved from there to here. But I do have it saved (Thank you for being who you are, Jim), and I'll get to see it again and again.

Incredible submissions as always.

Although it’s seems like there have been many more submissions in years past.

Congrats to Marc Aldrich, winner of the 2022 Bladeforums John White Memorial Best Bowie Award!

Marc's clean execution clearly resonated with the voters.
Marc placed second last year, so persistence paid off.
Thank you to everyone for participating.
Personally it was very satisfying as a hobbyist to progress from staring at these in awe (still do), to constructing a credible entry.
We had 55 voters this year, down slightly from 62 last year.
I feel that this annual celebration is still worth doing although some thought and suggestions can hopefully address how to promote this more widely.

Marc, I will contact you about sending out your award plaque.

Let's all get cracking on some new concepts for 2023!

*I Would have voted for Doyle or Roberts.
I didn't get enough time to think about it.

congrats to the winner.

Ha! How the heck did THAT happen? Surely a mistake. I demand a re-count! I'd like to thank the Academy, my agent, my Mom.......Joking aside, it is very humbling and a great honor just to be considered with these other fantastically skilled makers. Each piece is a winner just for the fact that they exist because we all know what goes into making them. It's a little sad that this year had such a lackluster turnout. Maybe we can start a separate thread to discuss what happened and how we can bring more attention and more submissions to this contest next year. Thank you very much to all the folks who support my work and have given me encouragement through your kind remarks and your patronage. I'd still do it even if nobody knew who I was but the recognition is nice. It's a "competition" because one of these knives has to be selected but I really feel that this is more of a brotherhood. This community is so supportive and sharing and I certainly wouldn't be where I am now without many of you. Congratulations to all the other entrants and let's do it again next year!

Dangit I got distracted and missed the vote! All are lovely but the Kasparay spoke to me most.
