hello,

was talking Boy Scout knives with a friend (and bladesmith) the other day and just thought i'd ask what everyone's favorite Boy Scout knife was.

he swore that his grandfather had a Boker Boy Scout model. would have been circa. 30's +/-. any possibility there?

thanks for sharing,

Metis

I like to give the Case Campers 650045R to my grandkids and other Scouts.Has a main blade ,punch, can opener,bottleopener/screwdriver,and pliers.:)

My favorite would be the Remington RS3333 four blade utility. I have had the opportunity to handle one of these knives and they are certainly well made.

As far as I know Boker never made an official Boy Scout knife, but many companies made unofficial ones. Boker could well have been one of these. Boker has been around since the late 1800s, so it is possible that they made some kind of Boy Scout knife around 1930.

If you can find one, the Queen/Robeson model with an ATS-34 main blade is a great knife. The Victorinox Soldier also has the same tools as the classic Boy Scout pattern also. Finally, the old Camillus US pattern is still a great buy and very durable.

A.G. Russell Premium Scout.

They're a bit pricey but the quality is superb, and the main blade is 154cm.

The Boker Unofficial Scout knives were discussed in Bernard's forum. They were the pattern the Remington six blade Scout was based on (I once saw a deluxe version that was beautiful). Boker has also made a number of standard scouts over the years.

It would qualify as my favorite scout.

DB1,

the ag russel looks great. and sure you can get 2-3 cammillus 'scouts for the same price, but......

While it may not be a "boy" scout knife per se it sure is close.

In the military they call them "Demo" knives and are often issued with
explosives. It is a Camillus all stainless steel 4 blade camp knife.

I carried one from 1966 until it wore out in 1997. Did a zillion things
with that knife all over the world. I still carry one once in a while but
mainly I carry a supertool & 4 1/4 buck (camillus made) stockman now.

Uncle Sam must have issued a million of that knife since WWII.
