Best Busse-kin for bushcraft/wilderness adventure

i would try one of dem fantastic bj's that is up on the site now, maybe not a bushcraft, but shore could do a great deal of wackin with it...

The choiless BOSS Jack that's available now would be great. I really like SFNOs and Skinny ASH-1s too and they've got more blade depth.

CG ASH 1
Kindling splits itself when it hears the ASH is coming to the bush!!!

I don't see the SJ TAC LE (Satin Jack) get mentioned much, it is probably not too common, but I think it would fit the bill nicely.

You could talk about 25 different Busse's that could do the job flawlessly. RMD is pretty sweet and awesome in the pack. On the big side, what couldnt you do with a Basic 11, BWM.

As used on BFC, the term "bushcraft knife" has a pretty narrow meaning, ~4" blade, 1/8", optimized for woodcutting, usually a scandi grind. The closest Busse to that is probably the CABS, Choil-less Anorexic BOSS Street, that just came off the site.

In the 5' - 7" range, there are a plethora of choices. I like the SFNO, SARSquatch, Swamp Rat Ratweiler.

Yup. You have targeted a blade length where you find sooo many brilliant Busse offerings (from past and present).

I think overall the SFNO LE (x/300) is hard to beat in this category. If you want something lighter, you could go for the skinny ASH or the ASH-1 LE (I love this knife!). Also the current offerings BOSS Jack and SAR-6 are quite promising. In your case I would possibly prefer the SAR-6 for "wilderness adventure". But I say this without having used mine yet.

Let us know how you decide!

I'd suggest a Culti for the bushcraft part of your adventure, along with a SAR-6 for the wilderness portion. These two are definitely better than any one knife.

Lots of good suggestions. I would check out the sar-6 from Skunk on BCS too.

Its a wonderful design:cool:
