Hey all.
I've been wearing 5.11 Tactical cargo pants for a while now.
They're built incredibly well and the cotton fabric is so beefy that it
looks like it'll never wear out.
The one thing I don't like about them is that they're very baggy on me.
The legs could easily be reduced by 2 or 3" in diameter.
Just wondering what you all wear, how do they fit, how do they hold up etc.

Nothing new to add except this: Wranglers 96% nylon 4% Spandex® (Flex Waist Outdoor Cargo Pant) are NOT recommended. Fabric is great for travel pants, hand wash and dry in 20 minutes, even comfortable. But the hip pockets are one layer flaps sewn on: ok if you only use them for a handkerchief.

This is OT but Spandex® is a Koch brand I avoid whenever possible. Lycra and elastane are ok.

My dad is a big fan of cargo pants, he tried various brands and currently Vertx is his favorite. I have Dickies lightweight duck-cotton carpenter pants. These are straight fit pants, less baggy, very breathable and soft, holding up pretty well after a 2 years of use.

I like the Kuhl Kargo pants, especially if I'm hiking. I really like the fact that they have snaps instead of velcro.

I bought one pair each of 5.11 and Vertx as closeouts years ago and I'm still wearing them — for dress occasions, because I can afford them only as closeouts. If they fit your budget and your size, I haven't seen better.

The cheap brands I've bought and worn are Wrangler and Dickies. To evaluate cheap pants, first check out the pockets from the inside. That will show if they're worth trying on, or worth hunting for if Walfart doesn't have your size.

Wrangler continues its rush to the bottom with one-layer hip pockets sewn onto the pants legs. I bought two this year I thought were acceptable for the price: Legacy Cargo Twill Pant (100% cotton) and Comfort Flex Waist Cargo Pant (98% cotton, 2% Spandex®). The material is robust, the hip pockets are hemmed and double stitched, and they look good for 3–4 years if you're careful what you stuff in them.

Dickies I've seen had traditional, pre-pandemic pockets, but a smaller range of sizes and styles compared to Wrangler.

I dunno about best, but I’m plenty happy with the 5.11 Stryke Pant. Lots of pockets and still fairly sleek.

I’m curious about Vertx Pants. Warrior Poet Society recommends them.

I admit to owning and liking LA Police gear cargo pants. Ok, not the best pants you can get but for us budget shoppers, they make a good pant for the money. Plus, most of their pants come in 36 or unhemmed inseam which is great for me ( 6'7").

FWIW, they also make a good budget backpack too.

My 5.11 cargo pants are the most comfortable pants I’ve ever worn. I wear Dickie cargo pants every day as part of my work uniform, while functional, the 5.11’s are just way more comfortable. Wish they made a dedicated work pant like Dickies.

Kitanica, 1620 & Viktos! In that order.. First two are made in USA n worth every penny!! Viktos is making some neat pants, just not here!! I own all 3 brands and recommend them. My first pair of Kitanica ASP's is.over 10years old and still can pass for new! Kitanica raiders are the best pants ever!

Duluth Trading Company, as others have mentioned. One very nice thing is that their pants are all very durable, but they make a variety of different cuts and weights. In the heat, I'm using their Dry on the Fly pants, not because I get terribly wet (unless I need to step in and wash a few dogs), but because they're extremely light and breathable. Do a search for coupon codes before you purchase, as there's always some kind of sale going on.

They are pricey but very good. I like them better than any other pants I’ve used. Very comfortable and have great pockets and such. I have a few pairs of their jeans and the quick dry cutback technical pants.

5.11 Taclite Pro.

I wear the Taclite Pro pants or shorts 7 days a week.

Viking babes dig 5.11 pants.

BDU cut offs. A 50/50 Nyco material dires quickly and you can use the cut off legs to make sand bags for the range.
