Best combat utility knife?

Esee 5 and 6, entire becker line, zt fixed blades, scrapyard dogs, swamprat knifes, busse combat. So so many different and far better knives than the kabar and puukkos. Maybe you could narrow down a price and size range for better specific suggestions.

If you can find a EK Model 5 Combat Bowie from the 70s you'll have a great combat utility knife, I've had mine for 20 years and its become my outdoor companion, it's always having of my belt whenever I go out into the yard/woods.

This one is so good, it's in the name...

The members who have served seem, more often than not, to say it is a good multitool, like a Leatherman.

I suppose that's not terribly "sexy," though. :)

This! Your combat or fighting knife should never be used for utility work. You should carry a separate knife for utility work. I carry three knives daily myself.

RAT 5.*

Sure there's better knives out there but for the money you can't beat it. Kinda like the fastest car is one that you don't own, the best knife is one that you're not worried about hurting by actually using it hard.

*I assume that you'd replace the sheath, 20 minutes worth of kydex work makes the knife an entirely different beast.

I turned my buddy and a couple of the guys in his unit on to SRKW Ratmandu. They love them.

check out the new JK combat/utility 6, if on a budget, go for the Becker 7.
