I'm curious on what you hogs & piglets think would be the best companion blade for a CG FBM???

A Warden, AD, Meaner... maybe a BA TAC???

I'm debating... I'll probably try them all, but what do you all think???

ABA ..... but what do I know.

It depends mostly upon what the intended use is for the blade. Either an AD or a LrMrS would do any small task sufficiently.

2 cents from the Wolf Den :D

AK-47. :p

I'm fond of the ABA and the AD.

definitely not a BATAC, to heavy. Meaner, GW or AD would be perfect.

The AD/HD would be the best choice if you only have 2. I like a lg/med/small combo when possible. The SJT could easily be replaced by a BATac.

Maybe even 4 (just for fun)! :D

I'm thinking a skeleton warden in a piggy back sheath would work pretty well. Nice, low profile......wouldn't even know it was there until you needed it.

ABA or a meaner if you could only have the two.

But you know you NEED at least three... then an AD and BATAC would do.

A Meaner would be easy to get right now...an ABA would not. (edit- well you know that, forgot who I was talking to)

Hmmmm, let's see.... uses are... prying open the wolf den, no wait that's a FBM task. :D
protection in making my way to the hoards of INFI inside the wolf den...:eek::eek:

You're right... I need my AK-47!!! :D:D:D

No really... not planning on skinning anything but more of general camp chores.

Currently, I'm leaning towards the MrS.

I think any of the EDC type busse blades will make a great companion to the FBM. My personal choice would probably be either a GW or AD. The big knife can still do alot of the smaller knife chores, just not with finesse like the smaller knives.

Or you can go with one good mid sized knife like the SH that will compromise both small knife chores and chopping ability of the larger knives. Jack of all trades master at none so to speak. If I need to pack light then I tend to lean towards that type of setup.

IMNSHO the BATAC would be too big of a companion type smaller knife. But a ABA would be fine.

I'd say LEANER or AD.
Or a GW, if that's your choice.
You've got a nice thick chopper, now you need something thinner to compliment it. IMO.

2 words...

Active Duty

... Man, i miss my 'puter...! :grumpy:

So... ya'll got me thinkin' I should go with my AD as the companion to my CG FBM. :)

I guess that puts my Meaner on kitchen duty. :D

Jaxx - Good to see you still have some kind of access and are still around.:thumbup:

Greg - Thanks for the pics... GREAT od / green linen set!

+1 I just wrote the same, then saw you wrote it.... and edited the quote in... good call

I like the OJ warden as a companion to my SHBM....but all tastes are different. I'm saving a Muddy AD just in case I change my mind. I really like the thinner OJ though. It's a slim little blade...a wicked cutter. I just keep stropping the original factory edge. I don't use it hard enough to deform the edge being a small knife and all. It even cuts steel bands quite well....though it occasionally needs a little steeling and some 2000 grit lovin after enough of that. I haven't changed the edge at all though....love it the way it came.

I keep a Victorinox Solo in the sheath pocket on mine in case I need to slice something. Anything bigger or heavier would be overkill. The FBM can already chop, pry, dig and anyhting else better than any other Busse aside from other variations of the FBM. That only leaves razor sharp slicing and detail work, which the Solo handles in stride.
