I'll probably get "flamed" by the "powers that be" that run this "forum" and a few forumite(s) to boot! But here's my quip : Where have you forumite(s) gotten the best
"Net" deal(s) on knive(s), which make, or just in plain general.

I'm now taking cover!;)

AET ;)

while others are better for perusing knives and deciding what you like, the flat-out cheapees are found on bestknives.com, discountknives.com, and ebay (as well as ebay stores)... just a hint! (Gulp:( )

I picked up an Opinel at a local cutlery shop for twelve bucks. I got an Old Timer middleman for twelve and change at a hardware store. My wife's Chive came from Wal-Mart. My Micra from Target. And my Khukuri from Uncle Bill at Himalayan Imports was a heck of a buy for $95. I was so impressed by Uncle and HI that I've got a second one on the way. Soon my 18" WWII will have company in the form of a 25" sirupati. Where else can you get a hand forged, differentially treated blade, that dang big, backed by a lifetime warranty for that kind of money?

Allen,

The BEST deal that I've received on a knife was the G-10 Spyderco Police model that you sent to me as a gift.:).

The 2nd best deal on a knife is the Ontario/Bagwell Hells' Belle that Blilious is sending to me in a round-about trade for my SOG Trident.:).

BOTH of these knives are ones that I have wanted for a long time.

GOOD ON YOU!!!;)
OBTW : You'll be receiveing a "medal" of sort(s) in the days to come ; "...drawing days out that men
stand upon..". I KNOW you'll likee it!

AET ;)

The best deal would be the ones I recieved from Spydie Santa, Allen Treat...

SE FRN Endura and CE Tan Salsa, for 20USD! The Endura is my new left side, and I have a 2nd salsa soon enroute to Eric "Normark" to get a rig. Will carry the tan pretty much 24/7.

Well I have had a couple of great transactions. The best price I ever got was on my discontinued Spyderco Navigator. My very first internet transaction was probably the best. I bought a Benchmade Leopard from the late James Mattis. I had just discovered this site and learned he sold knives on the side. Well I order my Leopaed from him and he sent the knife before he received my money order, that told me a great deal about the people who frequent this site.

Ok, here goes the forum plug. Has anyone ever found a really good price on a knife on the internet, taken that price to 1SKS and asked if they can match it? 1SKS has a price matching policy (there are some restrictions). Along with getting a great deal you are also supporting BladeForums in a roundabout way.

4" Frost Mora for less than $20 CDN.
Got it at Lee Valley Tools.
This thing cuts like crazy.

If ANY of you are Spydie afficiendos
you can do NO BETTER than forumite
glasshartt ( Linda ); she can get, for example, the NEW Spyderhawk for
$50 plus USPS shipping. E-mail her :

GlassHartt@aol.com

You won't regret it!

Best deals I've gotten are from Ragnar, just about everything I've bought from him (or could buy from him, I imagine).

I've purchased from a few guys, but only one has given me the most outstanding service and it's them I purchase from regardless of the price. It also helps that they are a major discounter and that their prices are consistently among the lowest.

My orders are processed and shipped almost always the same day. They are not too far away so UPS gets the package here in three days, but recently, for their standard shipping, (probably due to the holiday rush) packages get from Baltimore to New York City overnight, for the standard 5 to 8 dollar shipping charge.

To me, service is worth a few extra dollars.

Edited to add...
:footinmou You know... the part of the price and purchasing exclusively isn't true... I was just sitting here when it hit me... "what a crock of (stinky stuff) I just wrote". I was just contemplating buying a a British survival knife from another dealer who sells them for about $20 bucks less.

Okay, the truth of the matter is, I buy from whomever floats my boat at the moment. At times, it could be anyone as long as I feel that they're reliable. I'm a majorly impulsive buyer and I'll pony up extra money, and sometimes a lot of extra money if I can have what I want, when I want it. Otherwise, if I can wait, I'll get it for as little as I can, from someone who is reliable. And, yes, 1sks does get extra consideration because of the forum, but the dough gets spread around.

Other than all of the great deals I have gotten from some of you forumites, I have bought most all of my internet knife purchases through 1SKS, They do have a price matching policy as was stated earlier. To be honest, it is worth paying a little more sometimes to help keep the forums alive. I spend more internet time here, than any other place. That is worth something to me. As a matter of fact, I have a ATC Brend hatchet on the way to me from 1SKS now!!:D ;)
