Best deal you ever got on the BF exchange boards?

I traded 10 ozs of silver several months ago (spot @ $40+/oz) for a Strider SMF. I initially bought the silver pre-Y2K at $6.50 oz.

Cost to me for a Ranger Green Strider SMF in new condition $65.00.

kudos to you for being prepared! Heck of a deal

189$ shipped from a dealer for a new ZT 0301 in 2009.
175$ for a nice RWL34 fixed blade recurve with a tooled leather sheath some time last spring. Found it on the knifemaker's marketplace here.

Of course, that's been balanced out by some deals that I personally though were rather lackluster when I finally got to hold the knife, but I decided to move on.

Last year I bought a small Sebenza Insingo from recycling scrap metal. I had it for a few months but rarely carried so I traded for a SmF CC. Traded the SmF for an Umnumzaan and Dialex Jr. Traded the Jr for a couple multitools and kershaws and the Umnumzaan for a Grayman Dua and a Jim Burke Rock Star. Traded the Rock Star for a Gayle Bradley and Caly 3.5 super blue. So what started with an Insingo I now will have accumulated a Sog Powerlock, leatherman sideclip, kershaw leek and chive, Grayman Dua, Gayle Bradley and Caly 3.5 sprint.

I didn't pay a dime for any of these except shipping and a few hours separating brass and copper.

The best 'bargains' are in the For Sale by Maker section. Seriously, when you could the labor and materials, some of those guys must work for $2/hr.

Probably the Spyderco Smallfly MIM for $60. The seller said that he took off the latch and clip and they were missing, but he ended up finding them and sending them after all. It turned out to be a surprisingly good flipper for me, too.

I got a NIB Bark River Custom machete, the one that starts as an Ontario 18". I got it shipped, with the sheath, for $59 off the retail price. That's not amazing, but they aren't available any more, and may never be again.

I got a great 12" long blade from Bruce Culberson, his Bolok, for an amazing price. It came with a thick ass sheath, awesome edge, and nice micarta handle scales. It really is a great tool for the money, a great deal, IMO.

Second, and most recent deal I've made, traded a Bear Grylls knife and 30 bucks for a ZT 0200.. pretty good value. ZT was in awesome shape.
