What's the best deals you've ever gotten on a knife, Besides gifts. I mean like one you've bought or traded for. I got me a Cold Steel Voyager for $5 (No it's NOT a typo. I said $5.). I told 2 Cold Steel dealers that at the gun show Saturday, and man you should have seen the look on their faces. Found 3 deals on Buck model 307 Wranglers with the Brass Liners, all used but in great condition. One for $34 one for $20 and one for $15. I got a Buck model 119 for $35, and a Case amber bone medium stockman in trade for a Ka- Bar 1184 that I paid $25 for.

Well, let's get to the rat killin'. Let's hear 'em.

$35 for a Randall 7" Model 1 at a Flea Market, a few years later $32 for an Ochs forged skinner from a Pawn Shop.

My last two Sebenzas I bought on the Forums I considered at good prices too.

I once bought a Morseth semi-skinner and 4 Doziers at a pawn shop for $85.00. I made a little money on that deal! :D

Your are talking "deals" so I guess that the multitude of FREE blades I picked off the bottom of the Guadalupe River below each 'falls' or rough spot don't count. Lessee... a Puma 'White Hunter', Bucks, Schrades, Spydercos, numerous multitools, Swiss Armies, various hunters, bowies and boot knives, sunglasses, watches, rings and jewelry, fishing tackle, cash, beer, hats, keys, cameras, pistols, more sunglasses and basically anything that people with more money than sense took rafting or tubing and thought they would still have at the end of the day.

Paid $20 for my Classic Blades Blackjack model 1-7 at a garage sale and for an additional $5 they threw in a Bushnell 10x50 binocular.

After reading through all these great deals, that people have found at garage sales, and thrift stores, I decided to go to some yesterday, and today. Didnt find anything worth a crap  , but that wont stop me. Im gonna try to go to the garage sales, about every weekend. I think eventually I should find something cool

The best deal I didn't get was after I had only been into knives for a couple of months and was still low on the learning curve.

We were on a family trip in Nevada and I convinced my wife to come to a pawn shop with me. Lot of junk knives. There was one saw-backed hollow-handled survival knife they were asking $35 for, but since I knew that survival knives were a very common style of cheap chinese knockoff--and I had no idea what the markings "RP Hendersonville NC" meant--I passed.

I bought a Spyderco Endura and a Berreta fodler in a junk shop for $10 ea and bought a real Rudy Ruana skinner at a garage sale for $50. Still waiting for a $50 Randall.

At a local furniture auction my neighbor bought a box-o-knives full of old fixed blades for $6 and sold me a couple for $10. Among the knives I bought was a Pat Pending 1914-15 Marbles Woodcraft with stag/leather handles that was in excellent shape (with sheath).

A Green Bone Case Equal End Pen Knife from the 1920's, with a super flexible small pen for cleaning pipe bowls.

Now that's a sweet deal, got any pics?

This is why I like collecting older knives, the deals are still out there.

Paid 100€ (~ 120$) for an LNIB Microtech Kestrel...since the lowest price I've seen this folder going for over here was around 230€ or something like that.
