I'm looking at using diamond compound to maintaning my convex, 3v blades. Id like something aggressive enough to maintain a regularly stopped edge and I don't want to fool around with 3 different grits. I'm thinking an aggressive diamond strop to bare strop. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Tech diamond tools on Amazon, get the 'high' diamond concentration and pick the grit that works for you.

This stuff cuts anything (r.g. maxamet / k390 / s110v etc).

Good price and lasts forever as well.

Gunny juice 12 microns if you expect to remove some small chips (<0.5mm), 6 or 3 microns if you expect to deal with even smaller chips. Anything larger you will not get away with a strop.

I have used a 4-micron Jende CBN compound to maintain my edges for years, even taking out small chips on softer steels (e.g. LC200N). It works brilliantly, that can also be an option if you can get a good deal on it.

For sure get Gunny Juice I have used a lot of different diamond emulsions and paste's and I haven't found anything that cut's as fast as Gunny Juice, heck gritomatic for it.

Out of curiosity, what kind of strop are you putting the 12 micron Gunny Juice on?

Revival29 Revival29 I do not have the 12 yet. But I typically use thin kangaroo leather and basswood strops. If I will be dealing with some sharpening then thicker and softer backing materials such as thick leather.
