Best double-edge fighter

What is your favorite double-edged fighter? My pick is the CS full sized Peace Keeper- Best one I tooled around with so far, and I even purchased mine as a second!-max7474

The Tai-Pan is a superior knife to the peace keeper. CS also makes the Black Bear subhilt fighter with 2 sharpened sides.

Applegate Fairbairn dagger by any maker except Blackjack. They missed the quality mark.

The applegate by boker doesn't have a full tang, not that it realy needs it though. The tang tapers to a point a little more than half way down the handle, and it is secured by only the screw through the middle of the handle. The handles are also made of hollow derlin plastic. Thus the handles house not only the two metal weights on each side of the tang, but also a lot of air and empty space. I feel the knife has too many parts to it. When totally disassembled, the knife consists of 10 different parts: blade, brass guard, rubber ring, two hollow handles, two metal weights, two screws and one brass nut which both screws go into to hold it all together. I would go with the cold steel peacekeeper, though the grind lines are usually a little wobbly down the center of the blade.

I love Poklowski's knives, particularly the Scorpion and the CQ. Lightfoot's double edged knives are also first rate. It's hard to choose from among the several models Al and Greg offer. I wish I could own and carry them all. If I had to pick one, although it's a bit small: Scorpion.

The aforementiuonaed Black Bear Classic By CS. Held one at a knife show, and it was like a part of me. Loved the balance, and the sub hilt was way neat looking, as well as providing a secure grip.

I have got a really Great double edged dagger from Ed Schott. It is made from CPM 3V and the blade is real thin and the first one that ever bit me its so sharp.

What is really cool about my blade is that Ed did something very differant on the guard, he made it in such a way so that it wont catch on clothing. Thus it has its own look.

I really like the feature of the special guard, this is what really sets it apart, that and the fact that it is made from CPM 3V and made real thin. The grip also has a decent portion of the butt that sticks out and acts as a pummel and the handle is made and designed for a really good grip. I am real fussy about grip because I have practiced with other blades which feel slippery when your hand sweats. I cant have that!

I think the blade design was based on the Applegate.

Oh, and the knife will never be reproduced, it is a one of a kind and it was made for my eyes only. Its my faceless and nameless fighter.

The Peacekeeper II fits me better than the longer one. I have confidence that it will perform any task I put it to.(Both edges were shaving sharp out of the box, too. Many more expensive blades neglect this very important feature!)

I have to agree with many of the blades posted. I've played with the Tai Pan and the Peacekeepers, and they're fine blades.

My personal favorite, rather than being some secret "eyes only" mystery blade is actually readily available but still custom made for anyone who wants one.

This one is a Hossom Double. This one has a 5.75 inch blade, but the ones I've got on order have 7 inch blades (I ordered two). After playing with these for a bit I have to say they're really well balanced and quick.

After handling a couple of these it strikes me that they might be the cutting edge in double edged fighters (pun intended).

In the vein of daggers, don't forget the Randall No.2. You can get this knife with 4-8" blades (4&5" reduced in overall size). I've got a Randall No.14 with with the sawteeth profile but no sawteeth - makes for a double-edged spear point blade - very cool.

Small: Black Cloud Knives Super Valerie dagger (5.5").

Large: Keating/Dozier Crossada (I dunno' 12" or so).

Give me a Fisk 10" Bowie (Pit Boss or Southern Bowie)... these are the fastest handling knives in this size range on the planet...
