I am looking for an EDC folder that is 3-4" blade length with a locking blade. I don't like tanto blades or multitools like SAKs.

Spyderco Tenacious or Resilience.
Kershaw Tremor
Kershaw SS Volt is my current favorite
Kershaw JYD 2.2 Composite blade - You can get a blem from Kershaw Guy for $55 - This would be my pick.
Ontario Rat 1

Spyderco Enduras and Delicas can be found for $50-$60 new. Great EDCs.

The Tenacious and Rat 1 are frequently recommended. I have a Tenacious and I think it is a great knife. In your price range you could probably buy a Kershaw Blur which is my favorite Kershaw.

JUNKYARD DOG 2.2, tenacious, delica, endura, BLUR, leek, mini grip, used fullsize grip, rat 1, case trapperlock(i know, i know but trust me.)....oh and if you go with the Blur...de-assist it. trust me

Kershaw Leek or Skyline. If you're okay with blems, Kershawguy has the CB Leek and several different Blurs as well for under $50. Ontario RAT-1 has been mentioned a few times and is a good knife. The Large Buck Vantage Avid also fits the bill.

For a little over $50, you can get a blem Blur in S30V or composite blade JYDII from Kershawguy. The Large Buck Vantage Pro and Spyderco Endura4 FFG also falls in that $50-60 range.

Ontario Rat 1. There are a few places online right now that have them on sale for $21-29. Can't really beat the value there.

I agree, the Rat 1 is a great knife and a tough one too. Also they come in a variety of styles.

Kershaw Knockout can be had for $45 shipped right now on Amazon with their $15 off on any Kershaw over $50 deal. There are only 2 of the Knockouts left though so better move fast if you want in on that deal. You can also find the Kershaw R.A.M for around $50 if you look around which is an awesome edc.

The two regular and obvious answers are the Spyderco Tenacious and the Ontario Rat-1. I have two of each and like them both but for me the Tenacious edges the contest. Slightly better ergos, blade centering holds better, just fits my big hands better. I had a Blur and quite liked it but it was a bit small for me and I wound up selling it. The Delica is also a great EDC knife (got one of them too and another on the way).

If considering the Tenacious, check out the Persistence. I actually prefer the Persistence: the blade is a little shorter and stockier and it was razor sharp out of the box (as are all Spydies). I just like the size and shape of the blade better on the Persistence, but you can't go wrong either way.

I just bought a CRKT Shenanigan with the plastic handle and I'm liking the hell out of it. I havent had a CRKT for a LONG time, much preferred BM, SPyderco, CRK, Strider obviously. But ill be damned if this isnt the smoothest knife ive had in a long time. Handle feels great, blade is nothing to write home about but it doesnt bother me at all. Check it out!

Two more it check out that I think are great values, are the Ontario Utilitac 2 ($25.00) and the Kershaw Chill ($15.00). I have bought a few of each as presents and they all had nice fit and finish. I've been carrying a Chill for the last couple months and I've come to appreciate this little big knife. 3 1/8" blade and about 2 oz.
