I'm a new guy looking for a EDC for light use with a plain edge, G10 handles or similar, good steel that will take & hold an edge, wont break if I pry alittle, easy blade access, 7"-9" overall, I would love a nice decent auto if possible in price range(live in Ala). $75 budget but could stretch alittle if needed. Thanks, Matt

Sounds like an American Lawman is good for you, nice very strong high value folder with decent blade steel. For a few more, you could probably get a Kershaw JYD II SG2/Ti blem.

SAK, then you can use the screwdriver blade for prying and still have enough cash left over for a Spyderco Delica.

Spyderco Resilience, Kershaw Junkyard Dog. Spyderco Endura 4. Kershaw Needs Work. The list goes on. Spydie and Kershaw have many good knives in that price range. The Cold Steel TriAd Lock knives should serve you well, also.

i am in the same boat. i have been carrying a case xx stockman style for
years and years. i have a few other really old knives, case, boker, queen,
buck, schrade, etc. but they are more sentimental or worth more $$$.
it has been so long since i looked for a decent knife i did't realize that
there were so many high end knives to chose from now. and some are totally
out of my price range. the 60 to 80 range is about all i will do for a EDU knife.
i really like the looks of some of the kershaw knives. and the SOG, gerber and
benchmade too!!!

CRKT crawford natural? very beefy folder with a bit of weight behind it...come in micarta, its about 9" overall and is spring assisted.

They're down to $50 in some places, decent for those on a budget.

:eek::eek::eek:

Take any of the knives listed, then, spend 2 bucks on this. Don't pry with knife blades.

Ok heres where I stand at. I purchased a Victorinox Cadet and I'm looking at the following. Benchmade Kulgera, Grip, Torrent, Barrage... Spyderco Delica, Endura and the Buck Vantage Pro.

If you're open to subcompact folders in that range try they spyderco dragonfly g10. Just got one and I'm loving it so far.

Another vote for the Kershaw Junkyard Dog II Composite. My current EDC, excellent quality, running about $70 to $75.
