Best Edge Holding Sodbuster

What is the best edge holding Sodbuster on the market now? Thanks!

The one you never use.

;)

Honestly, it would have to be the D2 versions offered by Queen. D2 will hold an edge longer than either standard carbon steel or basic stainless. You may have to spend some time getting the edge you want initially but after that you should be good to go. (Naturally, this presumes we're speaking about production knives.)

I'll take a shot......Queen D2. However, it is just because I am waiting for my Queen D2 canoe in the mail today.

I have been using my D2 queen canoe for two days now making leather sheaths. After I gave her a good sharpening on my paper wheels I have not had to touch it up yet. I am doing all the cutting of the leather with it. A sod buster from Queen in D2 sounds like a winner for a production knife.

There's a black one and a yellow one. Get the yellow one. Why? 'Cuz everyone on the traditional forum knows that yeller stays sharp longer.

+1 on Queen D2. Takes a great edge with a little elbow grease and keeps it forever!

Only if you store it under one of them magic pyramids!

p.s. I wonder how many folksy folks remember that gizmo. :D

I like the Case CV better, but the Queen D2 is probably a better blade. For the price (around $25 each), buy one of each and give the one you don't like away.

The question on the floor is about the best edge holding as opposed to what our favorites may be or why.

I have to go with the Queen D2 as well. I don't have a Sodbuster yet but based on the other stainless and carbon blades I do have (Case, Boker, Eye Brand, Schrade, Buck, GEC) there is no contest. My Queen D2 trapper is my #1 edc slippie for just that reason.

D2 is best edge holding IMO. I put in my fav because that's how I roll.

Let's just not roll off the OP's original topic and intent. (Though I'm pretty sure by now he's picked up on the consensus provided.)

Queen D2 for the best tool steel edgeholding I know in a production Sodbuster.

If you want carbon steel with the best edgeholding--I read a post by jackknife over a year ago and he liked Eye Brand. I bought one based on that recommendation and have also come to believe it is likely the best at edgeholding in a carbon steel knife.

as to what our favorites may be or why has alot to do with what we purchace including edge holding ability

Lots of things go into my (and most others) decisions as to why to buy a particular knife.

However, the OP only asked which sodbuster was the best at holding an edge. That pretty much leaves out all the rest.

He's free, of course, to ask our opinions on any of those myriad other matters should he care to.

Barring that I'd prefer not to have his thread hijacked.
