I also posted this in shop talk, but hope to get some quick replies...

It won't be really long before I get to glue (and pin) the handles on my next big Bowie knife, and don't have enough epoxy on hand to do the job. I had been using some of the 30 minute stuff I got from Atlanta Cutlery a few years ago, and was fairly pleased with the results. I just figured since I have to buy more anyway, is there a better kind out there? What do you guys use?

As a side note, one time Dad's prized Limosin bull developed an infection in one of his hooves. The Vet shaved off a bit of the hoof from one toe and used epoxy to glue a wooden block to it. (thus the animal's weight would bear only on the uninfected toe with the wood block, and allow the sore toe to heal) Dad said the two part epoxy he used was a fine gray powder, which he mixed with a clear watery liquid. Dad helped hold the wood block in place against the bull's toe while the expoxy cured, and he said it got so hot he could barely stand it. And, just like the vet said it would, the epoxy held that wood block to the animal's hoof until the wood actually wore away several months later. That sounded like some impressive epoxy! Anyone here know what it was or ever experiment with it?
