just wondering which manufacturers have the best sheaths to go with their fixed blades, and are Sog sheaths as bad as I've read?

The Kydex sheaths for Spyderco Temperance and Moran are about the best factory sheathes that I have seen. I am sure that the On Scene sheaths for the Foster Fear Survival Knife are right up there too.

I’m not all that familiar with the current crop of SOG sheathes except for the Seal Revolver, which has a decent Kydex sheath (not the greatest, but far from the worst).

Agreed. The SWICK and Kumo sheaths arn't bad either.

CS kydex are ok, sit well on a belt and release the knife without to much fuss. SOG are as bad as they say.

the best sheath for a production knife imho is the one on the MOD razorback its as good as most any custom sheath imho.

worst sheaths are CRKT, havent had good luck with CS or SOG either FWIW.

Hey Guys...

Frankk..

Thanks for the kind words...

The problem with the SOG sheaths are that the belt loops are built onto a rather long thin single thickness of kydex...

There are alot of stresses to that piece of plastic, and this is usually where they fail. I'd much rather see they raise the sheath up slightly on the belt adapter, and fasten it on both sides of the sheath..
This would strengthen it in this area..

Eric...
