... in my humble opinion.

Went out this morning to do some yard work. Had lots of downed limbs in the 1/2" to 1" diameter, so I broke out the FBM SE to chop some of them up.

I've been itching to use this one, but since I will beat no INFI before it's time, I had been letting it age for a while.

Great balance on this knife. The scales are somewhere between the magnums and the standards. Nice and sharp from the Shop. I was chopping through 3/4" and 1" stuff with ease. One stroke. Double cut finish took a beating and then cleaned up really nice.

I've got to get some pants for this bad boy and get it out in the woods. Makes me wish I'd scored a FSH SE as well.

One swipe on that front cut...

Great pix!
you like it better than a Fat Mistress?

So far... it just has a really nice, balanced feel in hand, and it's plenty thick for chopping.

I can't wait to do some choppin' with my fat FBM (desert sage/camoG10) in a couple of weeks... I'll take lots of photos ! That LE sure looks pretty !

The SE is by far the best LOOKING of the bunch, no doubt about that. I love the saber grind and the color combo. I'm just a sucker for the thinner CG/Mag FEEL.

I haven't used my SE yet, though, so it's good to read your impressions.

For a better comparison, I need to try a Fatty with standard scales (you hear that, Skunk?) or get the scales swapped on my LE to standards. I think the feel of this knife has a lot to do with the scales.

How much difference is there between the SE and Fatty in thickness?

I actually don't have a "Fatty" (yet), but I do have a fat LE that I use. I assume they have a similar feel, though I could be wrong.

Fatties and the LE run the same thickness (around .32) according to bussecollector.com

My SE comes in at .27.

Another man who will beat no INFI before its time.

You know you're itchin' to though, don't you? :D

That's a good lookin' hunk o' steel, no doubt about it. Glad to hear it works as good as it looks!!

Great pics bro!

I sat there and passed on that one at blade --- no regrets right???

Yeah, I wish I'd gotten there in time to get a custom AD, a FSH SE, and some sort of SFNO.

No regrets though. :p

thx for the pics.

good choice for a user, ive found the dc to be the most durable finish.

Yep, I should have got one of those when I had one in hand:(

Awesome blade! thanks for the pics

Sweet!!!!

Man you're making me wish I had upped my ante on the one last night. :o

I do like the SE combo a lot!!! Nice to see it being used!

Thanks for the pics. :D

Yes, but the LE is flat ground, while the Flat Fat is sabre ground, so it has more steel in the blade. The LE is fat, and heavy, enough for me.

Wreck a mint set by using the FBM???? I can't believe that it didn't even come to mind earlier today! ... But I guess the LE did and does a great job... :D:D

Nice PIX!! :D:thumbup:

In the whole Battle Mistress line the FBM is definately irresistable. I was thinking that the SE would be a dream knife but it is heavier than the CG. I think the CG is slightly heavy itself that's why I wouldn't go with SE. I think I'll just stick with the CG as my best FBM (or of any Mistres for that matter) and only change my idea when Busse comes out with a FBM in .25 inch full flat grind. I think the G-10 tan/Black, green/black and the new OD/Black are the best looking handles in micarta on the whole planet. The handle is a big plus for the FBM/SE.
