This is mostly(entirely) for fun, but I'm looking for a pocket knife that easily makes very nice feathers. My pick is the Boker City 1, which surprisingly beat my old champ the Alox Solo.

Two rules please;
#1 curliness is king. Because that's what I enjoy.
#2 out of the box grind. Because I'd simply re-bevel one of my knives over getting something new and shiny 😛

Cold Steel Finn Wolf? Scandi Grind, AUS 8. I don't make curly sticks, but I have used mine to put points on planting sticks, and it did an excellent job shaving wood.

Lol, I agree the Finn Wolf is very nice. But this is more for fun and making fires in the style I like. Not a necessity, merely something that's fun and an excuse to get a new toy. Also, the Finn Wolf does make decent feathers with some effort. This one took me several tries and I had to prep the wood some. Unlike the Alox Solo for example, that was on the first try.
