I'm looking for a good fixed blade knife that's from 4-5 inches long and under $50, but no Mora's

That's a bit of a tough one, I don't find much in the sub $50 range I like that is that size.

But here is an Ontario Shiv that is $53 at Amazon. I did carry this knife for a while and the slim design made it easy to carry. I kept it attached to my belt and tucked in my back pocket. I find it very easy to carry a knife that way. The sheath I got isn't all that good, but I had a talk with the Ontario guys at Blade and they are working on that. In fact they had a Shiv there with a new style sheath and it was better than the one I have for sure. I'm not sure if they are already shipping with the new sheath or not but if I could choose I would get the new one.

I agree with the Becker suggestions. My only fixed I edc is an Izula, which is a bit smaller than your specs.

a 4 to 5 inch blade length and the Becker bk 14 and 24 are to close to the 11 I wear as my neck knife

The CRKT Minimalist isn't a bad option but it doesn't meet your length criteria.

(FK2) Farmers Knife 5 "
-$100. L6 steel differentially heat treated, may need further finishing in sharpening, polishing & wrapping handle with bicycle handlebar tape. Ideal for castrating livestock & up to sheep/pig sized slaughter & basic butchery.

Woods classic style how about a condor Kephart

More modern style - Gerber fixed gator

Military style. Older style SOG seal pup. Can find for forty bucks at a large internet knife store right now

I think if you could get a modified Old Hickory knife would be cool, great versions have been made, cost varies. Or for just a handy one, try one of the Russell green river knives.
