Off hand the new ZT 0560-0561 are options. They are very big for an EDC. So many great custom/semi custom makers out there, including Hinderer models. I just cannot justify paying more than $300-$350 total for a knife yet. I always come across awesome custom flippers that are $650 or more!

Pretty much everything I can think of in that category is Kershaw, usually limited runs. You may as well just plan on getting the 0560.

Also, size is relative. Carry a 5" Cold Steel for a few weeks before getting the 0560, then it'll be a small knife.

If you can find a leftover - or blem (Check with Kershawguy.) of the Kershaw #1725SC2 JYDII in Ti/SG2, it's a super buy of a Ti framelock. Of course, the linerlock 1725CB is a nice flipper, as well - certainly more available and at the low end of your range. The CB edge steel is D2 - pretty good at keeping an edge, too. Here is the JYDII in Ti/SG2 with the ZT-0301 and a few other non-flipper Ti framelocks:

At the other end of you range are the ZT-0560/0561. Myself, I'd never have a ZT-0560...

Of course, the reason I won't have the 0560 is because I like brown - and have a 0561! Super knife - it's better than folks will tell you it is - really. I loved my non-flipper 0551 so much that I bought a spare... but they were <$200 locally... the 0561 was more, of course, so it likely won't see a sibling here. The 0301 is a flipper - of sorts. It's assisted. If you can afford it, the 0560/0561 from ZT is pretty good!

If you don't mind tip-down the Benchmade Harley Davidson TI-fender looks like a real bargain. I think it's made in China though, so that may be a deal breaker.

The ZT 0560-0561 may be on the larger side--but it is incredibly light. So light that some people have a problem with it. It's a tough, strong, light, well-crafted knife and makes a great EDC.

The well made Hogue EX folder series is planning release of the EX02, which will build on the features of the EX01, but the EX02 will add a flipper. The following thread shows pics of the forthcoming EX02 models. I think the EX02 looks like an interesting, large (4") EDC folder.

BTW, should have added: if you're also interested in "value-priced framelock/flippers", Kershaw has their "Groove" folder which has the Sandvik SS blade, a flipper, and a framelock for street prices under $60. If you want a "user" knife to go with your nicer one, I'd look at one of these. I'm also personally looking at the new Kershaw Volt II SS, which adds a frame lock to the already nice Volt knives--again a good choice for a user--right around $35.

Thanks all. Keep the advice coming! I'm really wanting the 0560/0561 I think. I hear the new ball bearing system is awesome...I want the strong detent. Heard they are going to start softening the jimping? Nice.

How is the brown ZT0561? I'm thinking that over the black 0560. Is it more of a tan or light brown in person? Or normal brown possibly darker brown? Where should I buy online? Free shipping preferred. Of course I have to find one in stock!
