my top 3 would probably be:

RJ Martin
Todd Rexford
Less Voorhies

There are a TON of great makers who produce awesome flippers.

But my top 3 would be......

RJ Martin
Tom Mayo
Brad Southard

Les Voorhies is def up there as well, I don't own one of his flippers, but I own a Custom Model 10 and his work is stellar.

RJ Martin
Tim Galyean
Brad Southard

Ikoma and Shirogorov should be added to your list, as well as JW Smith.

Ikoma seems pretty darn sweet but ik very little about him
Galyean is a very good 1 also
Ment to add voorhies and shirogorov but forgot

Shirogorov

Spyderco Southard

How close is the construction and feel of the Spyderco Southard to Brad Southard's customs?

All these suggestions and no Brian Tighe or Ken Onion? Direware seems to make some very desirable flippers as well.

didnt tighe just switch to ikbs from his thrust bearing system?
I also am not a fan of direware but very true every1 seems to be after them
Ken Onion def deserves respect dont know why he was left out

Hm, I dunno about Tighe using IKBS- haven't heard anything about it. His website doesn't mention it and all his listed knives show STBS. As for Direware, I don't care for them either. They do have a certain 'so ugly it's pretty' thing going on but they don't do much for me. People sure do go nuts for them though.

John Grimsmo's Norseman is pretty good, I hear.

Round one and two of his Norseman flippers are "pretty good', but his most recent run is just spectacular. He makes his own caged bearing system now that produces an amazing flipper. I'd put him on par with Begg any day.

In my experience the best flippers were made by R J Martin, Les Voorhess, Todd Begg, Keith Ouye and GTC.

My favorite and smoothest flipper is my Eddleman with IKBS. Super smooth and opens like an auto with no wrist needed.
