I handled a lot of knives at the Blade Show. There were many very fine pieces I handled but the one that was the finest in my opinion was a Sliver by our own Tim Herman! The knife had a sexiness that I cant explain. It was simple yet complex, the blending of lines and detail was amazing. The knife was as tight as a fleas a$$ yet was smooth as glass. Tim, you are truly a master of the folder!

i didnt get to see Mr. Hermans folder, but my favorite was the mosaic folder that Tim Foster made. It was a scale realease auto, and some kinda neat.... especially for a guy thats been making for TWO years.

. All those Appletons deserve mention also. That was the most I have ever seen in one place.

Hey Rob, that little wharncliff of yours that I picked up from Les has quickly become my favorite user thanks!.

apogee t&a is in da works!

I agree with Rob, Tim's knives are the finest I've ever seen or held! I especially like the little sliver with the finger flip blade. That thing opens smoother and faster than any switchblade I've ever seen. Also, the fit and finish and craftsmanship is amazing. The frames and spacer look like they were milled from a single piece of steel, absolutely seamless. Next year I'll have the sense to sit with you all day Tim and glean as much knowledge as I can from you. Take care! Michael

Rob,
I also would have to give the nod to Tims folders for best at the show!! There should be some price catagories in this discussion though!!
I spent quite a bit of time checking out Darrels Apogees that Kevin Pesinger had at the room, They are HOT!
Next level in price,
Tims Slivers were.....everything mentioned above and THEN some!! Tight, SMOOTH, FAST, PERFECTLY made.........
Then at the HIGH end of the spectrum,
The Appleton folders are BEYOND description. I had a MOST enjoyable time at their table trying to figure out the opening and closing mechanisms! They are ALL different!! Those knives are truly works of art. When I asked just how much one of the smaller ones was, my answer was simply "10"!! I put it down and decided not to play anymore

As far as Ray's and Ron's work at least they have a lot of patience even when they know a sale will not be involved. I spent a lot of time being baffled by those mechanisims. Both are very kind people it was the first time I have met Ron and he is much like his father as far as his personality - great folks.
