Hello Again,

looking for some advice once again. I would like to get a nice folder for a friend of mine for a gift. Looking for something not too expensive, 60-100 cdn would be quite acceptable. Not looking for anything to gruesome looking, something functional, around 3-3 1/2" in length, low maintenance etc.

Suggestions?

According to my currency converter, 100 cdn is $89 US.
(I think I need a few friends like you.:D )

$89 US gives you a lot of choices. Here are three of the many possibilities
Spyderco Delica or Endura
Benchmade Griptilian

I'd suggest the ZDP-189 Delica, but the edge isn't quite as large as what you're looking for. Other than that, it has an amazingly sharp edge, very high performance steel, doesn't look gruesome, is quite useful, and is under $100. For the record the Delica has as much edge as you'll ever need (2 7/8").

I'd also recomend the Boker Trance, but one again, it's a hint too small (it's 2 3/4"). It half the price of a your minimum (33CAD), but has a very sharp blade in AUS-8, is nice and comfortable to hold, and doesn't look overly intimidating either... and at that price, you could get him a Byrd aswell, and still be right at about 60CAD.

There are many great knives in that price range. I agree with all of the suggestions so far, and would like to add that I was very impressed with the Boker Trance. If you can find a Camillus Heat, I would recommend it as well. The Kershaw Storm and the Spydie Native are both great knives that are available at the local Wal-Mart (at least here...) that are well under your price.

Thanks for the help.

I was just leaning towards a shorter blade because he's no knife nut, and i would like to get him something that he could use everyday and not feel uncomfortable carrying!
