I would not presume to call myself a collector, considering there are many, many others that have bought numerous Sebenzas, but I did want to take a moment and just say for those that are considering a Seb, here's the perspective of a guy that has had a few over the years (2 classics (1 large/1 small) 2 regular (1 large / 1 graphic small) and now a Small 21 w/micarta)..
The prior 4 mentioned are no longer in my possession, due mostly to paying the bills after the kids got older..(we all know how that goes - if your dealing with it now, keep your chin up
). I may have to sell this one too some day, but I'll use it gladly until then .
The small 21 was received a few weeks ago, and am glad to report that like all the others I have had the pleasure to have, it is elegant stength and simplicity wrapped in Ti - no blade play..rock solid; a work worthy knife that excels in what a knife was made to do - cut, and comfortably, in virtually any grip variation.
If your considering a Seb and wonder what it will take.. I do not reccomend this, and will not do so with the 21 unless emergency calls , but have beat the living crap out of a couple that I have had with batonning..still never had blade play / never had to engage the warranty, though I'm sure if it would have been extensively prolonged abuse, even the mighty seb would have developed play in time (folders are made to fold remember, they are not fixed blades no matter how well built)..but I never experienced it, thankfully...I'm one of those guys that had to see if it truly was a tank, or just pretty..the folly of youth to abuse a knife when not absolutely necessary, yes, but for me, I had to know if it could take it. - Test passed.
So in short, thanks CRK for making a knife that is Amercan made, and bears the quality our Country was founded on..hard work, and reliability, along with masterful presentation to boot.
Here's a few pics of the 21..man I love micarta!!!!!
Recent camping trip..as a wood worker/hobbiest..can get a lot of control on different cutting types (sorry for the night time photo from the camera), but it served real well last week on a couple of outings, and some considerable work on some aged oak:
Just chillin' on the desk:
With the rest of my pocket clutter
Where it will be, Lord willing, tonight with me when I set up camp:
