Can Someone help me out finding "the perfect knife" for under 70$ i know perfect knife is impossible to find, but some good suggestions would be help ful (pics if possible) Ive been looking at CS recon 1 clip point but i would much rather have a stronger metal than 440 stainless, this knife will be used daily in every day chores, maybe some hunting, as well as some military use (well as far as military use can be had with a folder knife) 4-5" blade is ideal i believe.

I am not a really experienced member and don't have so many knives....but I think I my opinion will be shared by many of the members here when I say:
--> Take a look at the Benchmade griptilian!!

I own one.....I also own some other knives (like a benchmade 690...) and it's my every day carry all the time!! The Gripty is maybe the best value-knife out there...
Also; you get a choise between hole and stud...2 different bladeshapes....2 different sizes...and many colours...AND there is the all famous AXIS-lock.....needs I say more? :-)

Edited just to say that while the balde steel is 'only' 440C......it's GOOD 440C!!! takes and holds a decent edge for a long time!

Conclusion: buy one....you'll like it!

Check out the Camillus Heat. Assisted opening, S30V steel and under your budget limit. I was impressed enough I kept one for myself.

Well, just so that no one can accuse me of being different, I'll also suggest that you buy yourself a Benchmade (556) Mini-Griptilian. It's the best knife value that I can think of.

Knife Outlet,
The Camillus Heat has AUS-8A as blade steel. I believe your thinking about the Dominator. The Heat is a good choice too though. Mine is way too much fun to play with. That Robo-Power assist is pretty doggone strong. Almost jerked the knife outta my hand the first time I tried it. :D

Both are great knives.

All the best,
Mike u.

If bladesteel is'nt of much concern--the Spyderco SS Endura is great.

But for something with harder bladesteel and lighter-weight--the Benchmade 551 Griptilian is perfect.

A slightly smaller and less costly knife is the 556 Mini-Griptilian as Glockman recommended. They are awesome in performance.

Good luck,
Allen

I agree with AllenC about the SS Endura. It's Aus-6, which isn't the greatest, but Spyderco does a nice job with it. The knife will cost you a little over $40 and performs better then most other knives in the $70 range.

Edited to add: If you want an Endura with better blade steel (try VG-10 :D) you can buy an FRN handled version. I like the SS better becuase of the heftier feel though.

I don't have any experience with Spyderco's, but I also recommend the BM mini-griptilian. It's a good value and it's got the axis lock. The Buck 110 folder might be something to consider. I think it's 420 HC stainless steel, but it is a pretty tough lock-back folder, it has about a 3 3/4" blade, and I think that Buck has gotten better with their edge geometry in recent years-they're pretty sharp now-and I know that you can pick them up for about $40-45. One drawback is that it is a fairly heavy folder and doesn't come with a pocket clip, but a snap sheath. Good luck with your hunt! :)

Doesn't quite make the 4-5" class, but check out the new run of the discontinued Spyderco Goddard in VG-10. ~$50

Under $70, 4-5" blade, everyday use:
Spyderco FRN Endura w/4" VG-10 blade. Available online for less than $50.
