What are some nice folding Kerambits besides the Emerson Combat Kerambit? (production preffered over custom)

IMO, the best folding kerambit [ meaning the strongest lock ] is the Blade-tech Tarani designed masters or journeyman model. The ring is enlarged enough to be easily accessable to a gloved hand where the Emerson is not. I think the Emerson ring on the folder is too small and hard to "get into" for some with meatier hands.

Go to www.folders-r-us.org and check under knife tests/reviews. I have two reviews of their products up on the site.

I would not carry an Emerson kerambit as it is a linerlock, and by their very nature can have and do have issues with unlocking at the most inopertune time.

I agree with Brownie, the nicest production Karambit so far is the Tarani. I've had both the EKI and Tarani, and one issue I had with the EKI is the "unfilled" ring. The two sides of the handle continue back to form the ring, with nothing in between them. It is quite easy to squeeze the ring and distort the frame. By contrast, the Tarani has a nice, smooth filled ring formed by the backspacer.

I am going to check out the Cutter's Knife and Tool Bengal Karambit when it comes out; looks to be even nicer than the Tarani.

I tried a folding karambit here recently and wasn't too crazy about it. It's okay and it has some interesting applications but I don't think it's going to make it into my EDC.

I own two karambits and I think both are great...(see the "other" forum for a mini review)

Liong Mah/Jeff Hall Rogue (folder) and Bladerigger/TAD karambit (fixed)
