In your opinion what is the best folder you can by for 10 to 20 bucks. Size is not important. Just quality. Thanks.

Opinel, Kabar Dozier, Sanrenmu, Buck Vantage Select, CRKT Drifter, or for a couple more dollars any of the Byrd line or some of the imported Kershaws.

Several nice Victorinox models available in that price range, and they make great gifts. Just bought a Recruit for $13, for example.

I would probably not give a black plastic-handled knife as a gift, unless the other person specifically wanted it. Natural materials and traditional patterns make nicer gifts, IMO.

I agree, but I suppose it depends on who it is for.. I know when i was younger I thought all the tactical stuff was really cool.

Also Okapi, but i hear they may need some work on the edge upon arrival. The Douk Douk can sometimes be found for around $20, especially the smaller model.

I'm a big fan of Spyderco's bug line (bug, honeybee, grasshopper, kiwi). All of them are fairly small knives, but from my experience they cut like champions and are built very solidly.

I'm also going to second the Opinel. I have a No. 6 I've been carrying for a while, its an amazing slicer.

A Victorinox Super Tinker is $20 and will have the best fit and finish and also have useful tools

I was going to suggest that Bug line, namely the Grasshopper.

Also, the Kiwi 3 slipjoint is a good affordable knife, and an awesome design ergonomically. Now that I have a Kiwi 3, I never carry my Grasshopper. Also, you might be able to find a Ladybug for pretty cheap, maybe $25ish.

I have bought several Rough Rider knives. I like them, they are pretty, inexpensive, and overall good knives.
There are a lot of them on ebay.

Rough Riders, Steel Warriors, and Hammer Brand, are some very nice slipjoints that can be had for those prices. I own all three brands, and all three compare favorably to my Case slippies.:)

These Colt branded slip joints at around $20 can't be beat. This one is a rail-splitter pattern.

This one is a double lock-back and is my favorite of the three I bought.
