The 3D black on my ZT 0200 - it eats pockets like candy but it is nice and grippy.

The G-10 on my Spyderco Manix II. Super grippy in the hand, pretty good grasp on the pocket, yet it goes in and out smooth. Though that may also have something to do with the clip design.

I agree, Spyderco finds the perfect medium between too aggresive and too fine when it comes to G-10 texturing. It's textured enough to the point where it gives solid grip but at the same time wont tear up your hands or pocket.

I'm goint so suggest some lower priced alternatives:

--the Kershaw Nerve has the best profiled G-10 I have ever held. The striations on the side make for a terrific grip.

--the Benchmade Bone Collector series uses contoured G-10. It grabs my hand like nothing else I have used (admittedly, I have nevere held a Hinderer).

Yes. That is a nice one. I also like the Foliage Green on the Spyderco Para Military:

Yup, from a strictly utilitarian point of view, Spyderco got it right on their FG G10. It has just the right combination of grip vs. the 'shred your pocket' factor. As a matter of fact, there is a FG Manix2 in my pocket right now. :)

Nope, I remember a thread about foliage green g-10 and how grippy it was. Thats where I got this info. Maybe someone else was mixed up.

They were mistaken then. Its the density of their FRN that is different than others, their g-10 is the same other than the wonderful texturing they do.

I prefer something more aggressive though, Emersons 2010 is a bit excessive, but last years version of g10 was perfect IMO. Slightly more grippy than spyderco's without rubbing the skin off your palms.

Although they are totally different, I really like the texture on Bud Nealy's scales (Grip-Guard G10) and the ZT 100/200 scales. Both are very grippy, and pretty wear resistant (I am pleasantly surprised that the Grip-Guard hasn't worn down).
