Best gear waterproofer?

I've used Nikwax wash-in water proofing with phenomenal success in my outerwear and my light day pack, but I'm wondering if anybody has experience with their spray-on gear waterproofer? Does it work as well as their wash in stuff? Which one have you used, the Fabric & Leather Proof or the Tent & Gear Solarproof? Any other recommendations?
 
I've used the spray-on Fabric and Leather Nik for motorcycle gloves and a jacket as well as their rub-on gunk for leather. Nothing gets you wetter than rain on a motorcycle but the Nik-wax stuff did an excellent job!

Usually I use Gore-tex equipment when riding, but there are times when I need to get 'dressed up' and my usual riding gear doesn't fit. I used Nik-wax and some 'regular' clothes, and while it wouldn't hold up to an 8-hour ride in a real downpour, it does work very well for a 30 minute ride.
