I have s Hennessey Expedition hammock tent and I really like it.

Problem is I can't find it :(

Before I buy another I just wanted to inquire if anything better is out there ?

Thx in advance

Love my Hennessy Safari Deluxe, but haven't really tried others....

Some like the clark jungles, then there are the warbonnets, I personally like the HH too, have a few different fly setups, sent the body to 2QZQ for a mod 4, ridgeline org, peak bag, and a few other things, JRB quilts, 2QZQ UQP. Its quite the setup. Clark jungle hammocks are made in town a few blocks away, been tempted to drive over and talk to them and see if they would do a custom offshoot of the NX250 but dont know if they would even do it, what the cost would be, and if I really need to spend another $500 or more on another shelter... but the plan I have is pretty sweet!

What did you have done to your HH? Sorry to hear you can find it. That sucks.

Nothing special just had a set of snake skins on it.

It is lost in the void that is my garage / basement . For the life of me I can't find it.

Thx

I've been wondering, what do you guys do with your packs when using these? When I sleep in a tent I just drag it in with me, or leave it in the "fore-tent"? :S Don't know the english word.
But what do you do?

I tuck mine under the rainfly or hang it on the tree beneath the fly.

Clark NX-250 in camo with the xl vertex fly & whoopie slings. Comfy, cozy, dry, hangs in about 3 min. I've got time to get the fire goin' while every body else is still sittin' their tents up!

I'm using a WarBonnet BlackBird right now.I've used no others. I keep my pack under the hammock on the ground. gonna try the hanging idea.

I seen the Cap'n using it at E's a few weeks ago. Very nice, I may be after one in the spring.

I have an HH explorer with their hex tarp. I have only been in it twice now, but it is certainly more comfortable to sleep in then my Marmot tent!
Spoolup, what pack is that? Ever try an extra tree hugger to hang your gear on a tree?

Pack is a kifaru Molle Express. Small, but works, Also use it as my carry on for most airflights. Thing has been to 2 dozen countries. When packing it outdoors, depending on load out, I have been known to throw the underquilt and top quilt in a pod. Lately however I have been using a KU3700. Dam near perfect setup. LIGHTweight, rides well, carry's enough but reminds me not to a jefftard when packing.

As for the hugger and hanging against a tree... Most the trees in my area are of 2 main families. Quakies and pines. Quakies leave the white residue on everything, pines you get sap. Now add in the Japanese boring beetle and you get a mess all over everything. I keep the huggers and cord that rub the tree in a ziplock due to the mess they see. Sad what a invasive bug can do to a place. however a swaying pack all night can rub spots into it since the bark is abrasive, Ill just free hang it still.

I don't use my hammock set up very often but when I did I had a smaller hammock I could hang under it or next to it that held my pack and other gear. Kept it off the ground and when it was under me I could get stuff from it without getting out of my hammock. I also used climbing protectors for my rope then also when I changed over to nylon straps. Keeps the straps brand new and pretty cheap to replace instead of your straps.
