Got an email from another Beckerhead this morning alerting me to the fact a photo on an older post was now porn. Literally, porn. Seems the servers have a glitch in them that lets URL's assigned to a photo, get hijacked and assigned to another photo. Not cool on a family friendly site. Since this was not the first time it has happened, I've decided to use my websites hosting ability to post pictures here, rather than the other service I was using. What better way to try out the new method than to do something that is worthy of posting. So, I took a few hours out of my day and hand polished the bevel on my BK2. Started with 150 grit, then 22O, then 400, then 600 and then Simichrome on my leather pad and then an old tee shirt over the leather pad with a little more Simichrome.

When I say few hours, more realistically it was 4 hours of work. Well worth it I feel. I'll never do it again, but it was fun. Edge is not completely convexed. I did not want to make the edge that thin. There is still some beef there. Would not want to chip an edge cutting slices of salami.:)

Now I'm afraid to use it and scratch it. Arrrg.

Thanks for looking.

That's crazy man. Love the rounded spine, the jimping and the finish on the flat part of the blade.

I'm trying to get close to that on a couple of my fancier folders and the lid to the "survival" tin that's on my BK2 sheath so I don't have to carry a signal mirror. very nice work.

someone is ocd :)

that's very very very shiny

Well 600 wears down pretty fast. There was not much there after an hour just
on that grit. Then an hour on the leather with Simichrome and then a few minutes with the cloth.

And yes there is a touch of OCD there.

That is super sweet. Awesome job with the pics too.

It's so shiny I can use the picture as a mirror!

What kinda patina are ya gonna put on it? :D:D:D

That's damn shinny!!! Might wanna put a coat of oil on it and toss that one in the display case.

What did you use to do the gimping? It looks excellent!

I use a home made laser powered by methane produced by albino black angus cows eating a special blend of Bluegrass, Kentucky Bluegrass, Featherbed Bent, and Northern California Sensemilia. You need to be careful with it though. If you inhale the smoke it produces, suddenly you will need to eat a burrito from 7/11.
