Ok, here are the choices.
1. Old school Satin Jack 3/16" thick
2. Boss Jack CG
3. Boss Jack LE

Currently, my user is the Satin Jack, but trying to decide on the others, as I am thinking I may be pushing it having the SJ as my user, as anything could happen, and would hate to drop that off a cliff or something camping, but i love it so much. But, it would be nice to know that the knife I carry all the time is not worth a thousand bucks. Its almost silly when i think about it, no? Then, if I were to go with the cheaper ones, and retire my SJ to the safe, then which one would you guys choose and why?
I haven't gotten my LE yet, but the CG is noticeably more bulky than my thin SJ. I like it, but just isn't as fast and light in the hand. Perhaps the LE will be a bit more similar to the old school blade, but I just can't decide, and want to hear all opinions. I really dig the flat grind of the CG too, so its a hard choice!!! And, this is for my all around user.
So, throw out your ideas!!!! Thanks for the help.

I like the original SJ. More handle and the choil felt more roomy for big fingers. Something about the way the front hole is set in relation to the handle that feels better to me on the SJ.
I say don't spend $1000 on a knife and let it sit. Knives have feelings too!

BOSS Jack-LE...

It's just an all-around great knife! I have owned several SJ's & SJTAC’s, but never an original so I can't really comment on it; although I've read the BJ-LE is quite similar, plus it has a saber grind (which is a personal preference) akin to my favorite, the ZTSJ (which also has kind of a penetrator tip or three-way-grind).

If you want more blade without much added weight, you should check out the DSF.

Nice pics!

Nothing like the ol' strait handled Satin Jack.... Best ergo's of any busse in my opinion...

wait till you get your boss jack le.i think it will be your new favorite:cool::thumbup:

Yea I can't wait!!! This is a hard one. Oh, and yea I meant full height convex..
Keep the opinions coming!!!

I've had an oldschool BJ. (LOL) I'm partial to my proto satin zero-edge. They didn't need all that handle and the smoothing of the edges is a great touch.

Is it just me? But I feel like the BJ handles are a bit limiting for different positions, and seem almost a bit small for my hands, and I have medium size hands. Perhaps I am just used to the feel of my SJ?
And, is there a very noticeable difference in thickness and feel between the LE and the CG versions BJs?
Thanks
Dave

Although I like the original SJ over the BJ, both models are up there with my favorite Busse designs. SJ or BJ, both awesome belt knives that are very capable across a wide variety of tasks.

The Boss Jack is pretty nice, almost too nice for collectors of the original.

Really, they are the same knife, with some slight improvements.

How can you not love less ricasso and more blade? The SJ rocks and will always command more $$$ but the BJ wins every where else except in the nostalgia category.

abuse the crap and beat the snot outa your new BJ CG... smack it against a tree, drop it off a cliff, throw lit like some cheap imported throwing knife.... and see what kinda character she has. Shes coated, so she's begging to be dusted off and smacked around a little-and will ask for 2nds. I say give the BJCG a whirl for 6 weeks and see how she handles in edc, hiking and general use. Compare the two and then pick. When it comes to the LE's- there just too perty so I personally let them guard the safe. If it is your user, might whanna buy another ya know. Once you take the LE out for general usage-she's a user for life then and no going back. Just my .02- but you cant go wrong whatever you select IMHO.

I just received my new Boss Jack CG. Muddy with black canvas. This is my first Busse and I have therefore found my next love. The muddy blade finish really went well with the black canvas.

*Sorry the pics aren't great.
