I'd like to hear ppls opinions on who makes the best Karambit out there? Both Fixed and Folding.

Thanks in Advance,

Tim

Seems like the most well known models are probably made by emerson, spyderco & Tarani.

I wish i could elaborate but id rather actual owners tell you about them.

i have the emerson combat kerambit folder. i love it. the wave snaps the blade open when you draw it from your pocket and its ready to go.

German knife magazin was comparing some production karas.

They found, that Emersons are best to grip. The hole at the pommel fits best.

Any other was a little bader. Especially the Strider Tarani was found to be the most stupiest karambit because there you get any chance you need to cut yourself by normally grabbing the knfe.

I would take a closer look at the Emerson fixed karambit.

Cutters Knife&Tool Bengal or the original Reese Weiland design are IMHO the best folding kerambits out there.
Ti framelock, 2 Clip positions. Solid as a rock. I own both and after handling Emerson`s version, the Tarani and other cheapos they come out as clear winners.

Did they also include the War Boar by Busse?

Coogler makes a great fixed blade (Wraith or Reaper). Tarani folder made by Blade Tech is excellent, so is the Emerson folder (but if you have big fingers, the ring might be too small for you on the Emerson).

Got the Spyderco Kbit. Should say had the Spyderco Kbit. One day, came home, and my wife was playing with it. She never gave it back.

While I had it I found it to be a solid, solid knife. All steel, frame lock.

Scary knife.

Can be found relatively cheap.

Just goes to show how much the Germans know about K's

They should stick to guns, not knives

+1 on Derespina! Excellent kbit for a great price.

I just received my first "folding" kbit. It's a Cutters Knife & Tool Bengal Karambit. Ti frame lock. 154cm blade. I couldn't be more pleased. It looks like I will be looking more closely at the "folding" kbit world as the quality has really achieved excellence. I'd really like to try a Tarani and Emerson as well.

I don't much about kerambits, but is someone is thinking of getting a Spyderco kerambit; I wouldn't hold off on it for too long. They were discontinued and were produced in less than a full production run. That means there is less than 1200 "out there".

I really like my Emerson fixed blade but it should be double edged. It's meant to be a weapon, right? So why make it less dangerous? Obviously to beat all the anti-dagger/double edge laws out there and get a bigger sales base. Good business practise on some level but I prefer a lack of compromise.
This is where the Busse War Boar comes in. Awesome in every way but you need to handle one to really appreciate it.
You need a War Boar.

Brownie,

Does Dark Ops make a Karambit? Ohh, my bad. If they did, you'd no doubt be touting it as "the greatest.":p

Well, it is suported by users, who have cut themselves.

just picked up the Spyderco Karambit for 59.95 at botac. I also bought a dodo. Have to have something to stuff into my suit pockets.

Not until I tested it, of course. How many knives have you stood on lately in testing that supported your weight on the pivot pin and lateral stress?:jerkit:

Yup, your bad all right

I was thinking about order one of the Fox Karambit's from this link.

I am still debating whether to order the ART. 480 Karambit with the Camo Rubber-coated handle or the ART. 479 Karambit with the Black G10 handle.

Anyone know how this stacks up to the Spyderco?
