I only have about 50 dollars to spend and I was wondering your guys opinion on what your favorite knives are for 50 or less. It can be a neck knife or a folder

Fixed blade, you can't go wrong with a Becker BK11 or BK14. For a folder the Ontario RAT 1. The Utilitac seems to be popular as well. All can be had for well under $50.

How long are you willing to wait to find a deal? If you want to order something new right now get a ontario rat-1 or 2 or a Utilitac 2 (in any blade/handle/color combo). If your willing to wait a little bit and find one secondary market watch out for a $50 benchmade mini-grip.

If you stick around a while, Benchmade Mini Grips and GEC #15s sometimes come up for that price on the exchange

Well...there are lots. What blade length, use, weight, etc. are you looking for?

Kershaw, Spyderco, Becker, and Buck come to mind.

Really I'm looking for a blade between 2-3/4 to 3.5 so pretty big margin. I was looking at the crkt minimalist and the Ontario rat-2 which can both be had extremely cheap as far as use it wail be used for anything really from opening boxes to being a screwdriver if I really need it so I want it to be a solid knife. I was just looking for your guys favorites

Both are great knives, but if you are looking for it to be a screwdriver as well, get a multitool. I have a Gerber Suspension that I picked up for $30 at Lowes. Has a nice little blade for opening boxes and a screwdriver. Never use a knife as a screwdriver.

No [single blade] knife is meant to be a screw driver and most everyone around here will tell you not to do that. If you want a knife you can turn screws with get a SAK or multi-tool.

The ontario rat-2 is a great knife but it would be especially bad at being a screw driver, expect it to break the very first time you try.

I understand that no knife should be a screwdriver i just said that to exaggerate that it needs to be a solid well built knife. I do have a multitool I usually carry also. What do you guys think of the esee izula which is right at 50 dollars

From what I hear, it is good. For $20 less, look at the Becker BK14/BK11.

My favorite <$50 is the CS Tuff-Lite. I guess you could use the spine as a screwdriver in a pinch. But overall, I am constantly amazed by this knife.....

The Izula is a great little knife. I like the Becker BK14 EsKabar more because it has more blade to it, and it is cheaper. Since it has the Izula handle, it was a win-win for me.

Does anyone have much experience with the esee izula because I like it but at a full 2 oz it might be slightly heavy on the neck

I have one (Jeff Randall himself gave it too me :)) and love it! I'm just a kid so it does feel quite heavy on the neck but YMMV.

I am only 15 myself. I think I might go with a toxic green izula because I have a good flipper (zt 0550)

That's not my only flipper I have a few. I'm slightly new to knives. I've always had them but I never really got into quality ones and collecting them until about 2-3 months ago. The one thing I don't have is a neck knife and I've been wanting one and I was looking at the crkt minimalist because of price but I'm really starting to like the izula
