Best knife for fast action

Hi there! I'm a newbie considering these forums, but I was wondering what the best knife for fast action would be. Pukko knives with the basic pouch style sheath seem best for my needs as I can quickly deploy and engage with the "ice pick" grip method, gripping the handle near the pommel with my forefinger and thumb. Anyone have any suggestions on a knife that may be right for me? Also questions are appreciated and welcome.

Thanks,

Fixed blade, no deployment, nuff said. ;)

Seriously though, why do you need "fast action"? I seldom have to chase a box crate.

And welcome to the forum.

Do you have any martial arts training, by which you could effectively utilize a fixed blade (or any, really) knife in a self-defense manner? Before spending a lot of money on such a knife, I'd recommend getting some training first. A few years ago, a group of friends and I were downtown for the evening, when a guy jumped out of an alleyway and with a knife in his hand and demanded our wallets/purses. I do have fairly extensive MA training, and I quickly snatched the knife away from the guy. The look on his face was priceless, then he ran off.

My point to this is that if you're thinking of carrying a blade for self defense, it would behoove you to learn how to use it, so you won't end up like that guy. You know, I still have the knife I took from the guy in a box around here somewhere.

Hmmm. Look at something with a wave feature either emerson or spyderco if you wanted to go the folder route for quick deployment for processing boxes and stuff
