best knife for the price?

Bit more info would be helpful. Blade length? Fixed or folder? Lock type? Steel preference? Handle material? Blade shape?

I'm pretty sure there's already 3-4 other threads within the first page or two of this sub forum. I'd start looking there.

well im a starter.... i only have like 6 knives...... but i guess a folder..... maby 8cr13mov steel anything really.... just want a person with wisdom of these things to give a opinion

Buck Vantage Pro. s30v blade steel. Comes in two sizes and well within your price range.

If you want something with 8cr13mov I would aim a little lower in the price range since that is a Chinese steel that comes on cheaper knives.

In that price range, you can buy almost any kershaw with 14c28n steel made in the USA.

I own four Kershaws, a Blur, two Leeks and a Skyline. Right now, the skyline is my favorite for EDC.

i have a kershaw clash and a kershaw leek....... however i payed around 20 $ for a spider.co cara cara 2.... it has 8cr13mov.... it works just fine.... also you helped me know what my kershaw leek steel was... thanks

Spyderco delica or benchmade mini griptillian if you want a small knife (3 inch blade)

Spyderco endura or benchmade griptillian (full sized) if you want a more substantial blade.

The delica/endura are basically the epitome of great, affordable, user knives with excellent quality and blade steel for the price (vg10). They might not be "lookers", but they are a favorite edc knife for MANY very knowledgeable knife users and collectors. Plain and simple, they are GREAT knives that just work.

The griptillian series is kind of the anti-spyderco. They have smaller handles per their blade size which as a negative impact on ergonomics and use slightly lower quality (IMHO) blade steel (154cm), but build quality is very high and the axis lock is absolutely spectacular. Axis lock folders are some of the fastest opening folders around and are a heck of a lot of fun to play with. If there is one real downfall to the griptillian line is that many people feel that the handles feel too cheap and hollow. It doesn't bother some people, it bothers others a lot.

Either way, you really can't go wrong with any of the knives I've listed. Both have steel FAR better than 8cr13mov. Both are tried and true designs. And both were meant to be used. They are the bread and butter of two spectacular knife companies and are an excellent example of very high quality, affordable folding knives. I would go spyderco, I simply think they represent a better value.

Saw the previous responses after submitting my reply. Since I don't want to reward duplicate thread posting, I've removed my helpful response.

:thumbdn: to duplicate threads.

EDIT: Wow, at the time I'm posting this, our OP has a grand total of 13 posts, out of which nearly half (6) are new threads and all of which have been started within the last week and a half.

EDIT #2: Just to avoid any confusion, this post and the previous three are from a duplicate thread have now been merged with the original one the OP started.

That's OK, he's still learning how the forums work. I merged these two very similar questions, though.

Be nice to newbies! :)
