I cant believe no one has asked this and yes I know I am asking this question on the internet where there is access to everything and anything, but still gotta love some print media.

What is your favorite knife magazine that you actually read or look at? The two for me are Blade and Tactical, I subscribe to Blade. Are there any others Im missing, my renewal is coming up soon so I could change...

After I began reading BF regularly, I dropped my Knives Illustrated and Blade subscriptions, and stopped picking up others from time to time also.

The question does come up, but not all that often.

Knifeworld. One of the best values out there, IMHO.

I occasionally buy Blade, Tactical Knives, and Knives Illustrated off the stand, but very rarely. You'll find more thorough & honest reviews here on BF, I think.

even though tactical knives is layed out like knifeporn,
it does get me excited enough to actually read through it's worded content.
imho, some of it's articles could even make it into the pages of the nation's most read gentlemen's risque publications.
and that's why above average photography becomes very necessary for such publications which caters to very manly object d' sire.

I subscribe to Blade Magazine, Knives Illustrated and Knife World.

I subsribe to Blade, Knives Illustrated, and just recently Tatical Knives and read them all completely.
Blade is beautifully done. Almost worth it just for the photos. And it's monthly so you get the "fix" more often. :D
KI about the same, but not quite as slickly done.
In both the articles are a mixed bag, sometimes excellent sometimes not.

Sometimes you do feel kind of "dirty" after reading it. ;)
I avoided it for quite awhile. It was just to testosterone laden to tolerate, but it seems to be improving and broadening out now. And toneing down the macho stuff a bit.
For example, the last issue had a nice article on the Wenger Patagonian knives.

Really? I thought it was a bit pricey for a newspaper type pub. Maybe I need to look again.
Seems more directed toward the traditional users.

For the collector, it does have excellent, usually very detailed articles. In that area it has more real useable info than the others combined.

You're right on all points. It's the quality of the writing that kind of got me hooked. (Which reminds me - I need to renew!) One thing I noticed about KI and TK, was the typos that show up. An occasional error getting through is one thing, but jeez, some months would be a grammar teacher's nightmare. Good writing & observations, but a little loose in the editing, I think.

Dang right. You better smile when you say that, pilgrim! ;)

Tac. Knives. It may not be the best content and literary-wise, but its got that "Hey that's cool!" factor and how the knives are photographed.

Great responses! yes as first stated Bladeforums is in a different league, especially to get you close up with knifemakers and people i think more qualified than the writers. Just a quick fyi, i got every back issue of Blade Mag from 97-08 on a Dvd for $30. They are in PDF but simply great!

You beat me too it, reading the Blade Forums has spoiled me and now I just walk past the Knife Mags on the newsstand.

I picked up the Blade DVD from Amazon fairly cheap.
Was first surprised you couldn't view it on your TV, then more surprised they didn't do some kind of front end program for it....just grouped the pdfs by year.
You can search each issue, but no search over multi-issues. Global search would have been nice.
Still not a bad deal, good reference.
