What are the best knife mags? there are no good book stores in my area so i have to subscribe online.

Tactical Knives is my favorite, much better than Blade IMO. There's also Knives Illustrated, but I've yet to read an issue of that mag.

I like 'em all...

Blade magazine usually has some awesome and fancy customs that boggle my mind and it's a great rag.

Tactical Knives is cool for...well...tactical knives and SD articles.

I'm just burnt cause the only real mag shop here in this 250,000 city just closed. I now have to rely on the bookstores and such and it's not working out too good.

Blade is alright, depending on the issue but it friggin features too many fancy, exotic customs that not many of us would be willing to use every day. Tactical Knives is really good for tacticals but manages to throw in utility/survival in between. My vote for TK.

Do you have a Barnes and Noble in the area? They have Blade, Tactical Knives AND Knives Illustrated. At least the one in my area does. The cool part is that you can sit in there with a cup of coffee and read away.

Tactical knives is my preference with blade 2nd. Knives illustrated went down hill when they got there new editor. They have crap for pics and the writing is terrible.

They are all good in my opinion but beware; if you subscribe to Tactical Knives it will take FOREVER to get it. There have been several posts in here from people that have had the same problem. I subscribed to it in May and have just this week received my first issue. It only took me about a month to get any kind of a response from them only to tell me that have no record of me. That was until I had to fax them my paid receipt (magazinecity.com). We shall see if I continue getting them.

The only one I get every issue of is Blade. Tactical Knives has a very limited appeal for me. As the name of the magazine implies, most of the articles found in TK are about tactical knives and using a knife for self defense. That is not really where my interest lies. I have never cared for Knives Illustrated, but because of a good article I will get the occasional issue. Another really great periodical is Knife World. It is in the form of a newspaper not a magazine, but it has outstanding articles and may well be the best of the bunch. KnifeForums the magazine is okay, but veery limited in its scope. Its reviews are all done by forum members and though this is usually all right, there are times when it is easy to tell that the reviewer has very limited experience with knives. This magazine is also sometimes full of typos and is on a very poor grade of paper. This means that the pictures never come out looking good, except for the ones one the inside and outside cover.

Ther is also an online magazine: www.bladesinternational.com . This is a great site, with excellent articles and fantastic pictures. Check it out.
