What do you guys recommend in regards to a compatible Busse/Swamp Rat knife to complement my AK?? Yea, ALL OF THEM would be nice! But if you had to narrow down to one for right now...

are you looking for something larger or a small edc type?

1. 8+ blade: battle mistress, ergo or fusion
2. 6-8 inch blade: sfno or steel heart
3. 4-6 inch: any badger
4. 4 or less: meaner or leaner street, game warden.

I'm thinking something of moderate size: 6-8 inch that will be a good camp/defense/survival tool.. Sorry if i'm bing too ambiguous...

ill go with the sfno, tough to find though.

actually any outlaw is tough to find.

a fusion steel heart sounds like it will fit your needs as well, and they are more readily available. they show up on the exchange fairly often.

A NICK XXL, LOL need something to chop up some STEAKS from the cow ya KO'd with your AK. Heh-heh, don't mind me. Um, I'd go with something about Badger sized... like a Badger! :D , maybe even a Meaner. Something BIG something small. Just a thought. :) A SJ TAC might be more to the size ya mentioned.

If you're looking of going Swamp Rat's way, try to find a Camp Tramp. Should do you well.

Don't forget the Hell Razor --- it's a "jack of all trades" kind of knife too. Chop a little, skin / food prep, self-defense, etc...

There is, or was, a couple of nice SFNO and Muddy Mojo variants for sale on the exchange. Kinda pricey, but probably a nice fit for what you are looking for.

I'd also suggest the Hell Razor for the same reasons.

Thanks guys for your responses... Now out of all the models suggested, which ones are the best choppers?

The Hell Razor chops, but it's neutral balanced. But it makes a great all around knife.
But for a chopper I'd say look into a Fusion Steel Heart. Or a Heavy Heart. (The Heavy heart is a FSH that is a mite thicker, available in black on black only)
FSH is an 8 in blade, forward balanced, so it makes a great chopper.

OR Look into the FBM's that will be showing up at the company store sometime in the future. THOSE are wicked choppers. I have an FBMLE. But I hear the CGFBM make a great chopper as well. (The LE's are a skosh thicker than the CG's.) The FBM might not see as much use as a smaller blade because you might not be able to carry the FBM around with you all the time. (Unless your name's HEAVY! :D ) But there's nothing that will get in the way of a Battle Mistress's 10 inches of INFI!! :D

The satin jack tac is the same size as the sfno, but with different geometry and proportions. Having never handled a sfno, I can only assume it would be a little heavier. I love the satin jack because its such a nice jack of all trades, without sacrificing to much in any given area. If you want it to chop well, the hogle version is a great small chopper.

The SJTAC and SFNO are not quite the same size.

SJTAC = 6 inch blade .189 thick flat ground
SJTACLE = 6 inch blade .220 thick convex ground
SFNO = 7 inch blade .220 thick saber ground
HOGSFNO = 7 inch blade .270 thick ????ground
NO-E = 6 inch blade .250 thick flat ground
ZTNO = 6 inch blade .189 thick saber ground

Oh, my personal favorite in the size you are looking for is a SHSH = 7.5 inch blade flat ground.

It may not sound like a great combo but my Skeleton Key and AK-47 is a really great set-up.

Dave Brown did a really good piggy-back set-up. If you do a search of my threads you can see the pics.:D
