Who are the best writers about knives and cutlery?

Let me explain: when I was a student, I read brilliant works by people who were great thinkers but dense writers. As I have gotten older, however, I can't plow through these tomes, and I much prefer a good read. That's what I'm looking for here.

To give you an example: among gun periodicals, te best reviews--honest, unbiased--far and away are in Gun Tests. But I also really enjoy the writers in Guns and Ammo, folks like Patrick Sweeney.

So here's my question: who are the best knife writers around, both in magazines and books? Not the smartest, most informed, or even most knowledgeable, but the smoothest, most enjoyable writers on our beloved subject.

Bump for a thread I'd been meaning to start myself. Also what are some good books to read for knife newbies like me? I'm unfamiliar with a lot of the vocabulary I see getting thrown around on these forums.

Bernard Levine, Bruce Voyles and Ken Warner (back when he was still the Knives annual editor) are all good. Frank Trzaska also knows his stuff.
