So unfortuneatly I've been completely out of the knife world and off of this forum for nearly a year and a half or better now due to my money being required elsewhere. Now though I'm back with a vengeance and I have some catching up to do. So what are the best knives of the past little while in every price catagory and in your own opinion?? Any cool blades are open for suggestions and PICS would be freaking amazing!

The Adamas was a big part of the year it seems

The Hest folder I think was too.

The Kershaw Cryo is the latest rage because it just started shipping. I do think the ZT 0560 is an amazing knife and has received tons of attention. It's up there with the Paramilitary 2 as near-perfect EDC knives for serious use.

One obvious pick you can't go wrong with is the forum knife, which is still available (click on the link in the site navigation toolbar). It's a unique Kershaw skyline with blue handles and S30V steel, for just $90. It's a great design for what I call "white collar EDC" which is 90% of people (maybe 50% of BF). It's a proven overall design that has been very popular for many years, and this is a limited edition with great blade steel. I'm sure it will only increase in value.

ZT 550/560/561 for sure, probably the biggest knife of the year I can think of, and they're finally in stock everywhere (lots of stores advertising them on BF). The Cryo, on the strength of the aforementioned ZTs, because they're well made and dirt cheap. And one to research about (both in terms of awesome technology and sorry controversy, is the ZT 777 -- basically, you'll never want to own a Microtech again). Really, it's been a Kershaw kind of year.

Oh yeah, and a new Sebenza was announced, the 25. Extra finger groove!

Check out this video forum member mongomondo posted about in another thread. FFW to 5:38 and you'll see Kershaw's newest coolest and the new Sebenza:

The biggest rage in 2011 that has now somewhat subsided has been the Kershaw Tilt.

Also I'd say the Les George VECP has been highly sought after as well.

And as mentioned, the Zero Tolerance 0560/1 and currently, the Kershaw Cryo.

For me, it was the ZT 561 and the Spyderco Yojimbo 2:

I'd also put the Tilt on the list, although I don't own that yet. If ZT ever makes and ships the 777 that I have on order with the LKS, that would likely trump all.

If you missed the last year and a half you missed...

pre owned xm18's get more available than ever and still go from $500 to $700+

Spyderco announce its first flipper coming out soon

A new Sebenza coming in 6 months in which CRK moves away from the bushing pivot

A new strider folder that moves into the bushing pivot

Kershaw/ZT stepping up as a front runner, maybe "the" front runner in exciting and innovative designs, especially with the already mentioned 0560

Microtech business as usual
